If the RB 182 + stripes is seen in or around Fareham Reach it's still owned by the credit controller in my last job. He was selling it though, so if it has sold locally it might not be.
Amazing.
The ability of some to ignore educated opinions of others is astounding.
And FLOL at that 'straw' attached to two rubber bushes stiffening the rear up. Not a chance.
Re: Ultra Red 200 ordered.
Arty pictures are for fags. Thread title = "Look at my new car" followed by 20 pictures of reflections of a graffiti strewn wall.
Just show us the car FFS, not your poncy photography skillz.
I'm as excited as you Chris tbh :o
Nope, all looks OK.
Making an effort to keep this one in better condition than my 172 Cup.
Opinion from my friend is it's easily sortable - bodyshop he uses will whip the door off, then use lasers, a big bar, a hammer and some magic,
All for something like £200. Bargain if possible. Going to...
Re: Ultra Red 200 ordered.
I remember how I felt when I had the call confirming my 172 Cup was on its way down to me from Stockport. No work was done on that Friday. None. At all. I couldn't think about anything else with the excitement!
A friend thinks so, and without too much trouble apparently. A trip to Rentech then my mate's bodyshop at the weekend will tell. Hope it is as the fouling on the wing seems more severe now...makes me wince every time I open/close it LOL.
A friend makes his living buying Cat C/D repairables and fixing them up so this sort of thing is his bread and butter.
Going to see him tonight to see what he thinks. Then Rentech on Saturday to see if any magic can be worked. Failing that, it's bodyshop/insurance possibility :(
WTF, proper hardcore Cup, no radio!?
Got to be a way of working that recesss in somehow. A project here for Rentech Mike I think.
FLOL.
Had the thought when looking at it last night that a strategically placed lump of wood, followed by a few enthusiastic closes of the door might see it bend...
Re: Ultra Red 200 ordered.
Top tip Chris, once you get it spend some time practicing opening and closing your door with the ridiculously placed door handle in high winds. It'll help avoid costly c*ck-ups.
Re: Ultra Red 200 ordered.
Smooth and hard, that's how they like it.
What are you expecting the dealership to forget Chris?
I remember when my 172 Cup was delivered, had a list to check for splitter, wheel key, service book etc. etc. as it seemed so many arrived without.
Saw the original...
I like that thought...can't see it doing anything other than failing hard though.
Car's done 24k miles now...not likely it's been doing it since it left the factory. Worth a try though maybe.
Will get Rentech to cast an eye over it this weekend, see what options I have.
The French bit is due to them putting a door grab handle so close to the door hinge that it's of little or no use.
Have struggled with it in the past...I just didn't expect it to get ripped away so violently.
My own fault really despite the unique Frenchness!
I'd be up for a return visit now my 200's running on 99 and has seen more than 3k rpm for the first time in its 18k life.
Hopefully it'll read more than 185 next time!
Opened the drivers door, a huge gust of wind gets hold of it, I grabbed the handle...but with no leverage it got ripped out of my hand and then the door proceeded to try and meet the front wing :(
Door closes and locks OK, but needs pressure to close it properly. Doesn't seat as it should...
I was talking more about the;
"Having harnesses and fixed buckets but without a fixed cage is a retarded thing to do"
comments that usually surface.
Learned a lot from this already...good topic!
Very, very interesting.
So it does seem as though all the CS experts who said my Cup was dangerous and that I was a f***ing idiot...were in fact...wrong (or at least not 100% right)!
LOL
As for airbags...I can't see how they'd materially benefit you with a full harness.
