that shoulder is about to go into holes like happened before, you can see the blue overheat hue too, no way would I risk it, the rest of the tyre is fine though, pity :(
bit of both imo, but the track I go too has two long straights with tight right hand bends at the end, one a hairpin, known tyre and brake killer, other people on different tyres have similar problems so it may well be more track specific. NS-2Rs next time out so I'll find out. The 1st set...
yes the sidewalls are a bit soft. I run them at 28.5psi cold and on track they hold up a lot better. I ran my 1st set at 30psi hot after some 'advice' and ruined them :(
Clio is fit and healthy again after the last trackday misfire, but also found a loose fitting -ve battery terminal so changed that. Also my RC6 pads arrived today, can't wait to give them a roasting on the 24th, where I'lll also be trying the NS-2R tyres I have waiting to be fitted :fearscream...
I really need a go in a Gripper'd 172, been thinking about it, as I'm not chasing power, but want to improve lap times. Are they the 'night and day' mod I've been looking for!?
Another frustrated injured tinkerer! I was knocked out after a fall at work on Thursday, still don't feel 100% but itching to get at the Clio again as the brakes haven't been stripped and cleaned after the last track day :(
They're plus vat too unfortunately, but with the discount work out the cheapest I've seen. Delivery was about £6, they us fast way though, they vary hugely, you can go through the checkout process and get a full quote before you pay
Just FYI, if you want to stick to CL, try Murraymotorsport.com, front page has a 10% off code this weekend and they're already competitive, I ordered some on Friday
I just resent paying £200 for a set of pads on a track car
Cool thread, you're on your the slippery slope now!
I drilled a new hole and moved the canister over a Couple of inches, made enough room for a 100mm duct.
Not much point in accepting poor coilovers just because they're cheaper to refurb! I've read nothing but poor comments regarding the Gaz damping. I'm also now considering coilovers but worried the Billies may be too soft for track work.
Really depends on where you're siting it, I have a 10 row, spaced down about 1/2" to clear the lip of the crash bar and with the fittings it's low enough, a trip over a large curb or onto the grass would worry me. It dropped my temps ~20'C so I don't think a bigger one's needed anyway.
But for a standard engined, standard calipered stripped out Clio? The website Coefficient and heat range figures favour the CLs but always good to have real world reviews, I'm doing my best to keep costs down and £200 for pads doesn't sit well with me, but if the RC6 actually are crap then I'll...
