You need specifically a tool to lock the camshafts, a tool to lock the pulleys and a tool to lock the crankshaft, you also need 16mm and 18mm spanners instead of the 15, 17, and 19 more commonly used in my experience. You also have to take half the car to bits to get to the belt etc.
Havent finished yet, just starting to put components back on, I have no doubt I will finish it, but no room to get spanners/torque wrench on, forever jacking engine up/down to get to different bolts, ridiculous.
Got the crank pin in, and the horseshoe, put on pulley locks and have loosened everything and removed bottom pulley. In the manual it says the slot in the end of the crank (presumably means the keyway) should be in line with the engine centreline, while its hard to be exact I think its more in...
Oh right, no I have all the parts (Wolverhampton) including tools , just very disappointed it took me so long to get to the stage where im ready to use them. 12 hour shifts now mean it will have to wait till next week before I can **** it all up.
No I am not going to replace the wing, I have never really liked the sport body kit, going to replace it all with non sport wings/front panel, which I much prefer. Only trouble is all the holes that get left in the sills, and I cant afford to get panels resprayed so will be all colours for now.
Itll never be a nice car, but what can I replace it with for the money, probably worth £500 once/if I get it done but I wouldn't sell it for that, so I may as well keep it and modify it. All my cars get modified.
There you go, although hitting it didn't do this, I saw once the front panel was removed that the front of the wing had been repaired previously, so I had no intention of leaving it on.
Right now ive cooled down a bit, one thing that I don't understand is what is the 3rd cogged wheel for that comes with the Renault tools, if someone could please explain.
Yeah, mount is completely of, as are all the aircon pipes (didnt work anyway and I plan to fit the pure delete kit) Finally got the bolt out but I did take my frustation out on the wing, ( another wing now required, better than the windscreen)
Five years since cambelt last done so thought I should get it changed. Couldn't justify paying someone or afford to really, so decided to have a go myself. Not a novice have done other cars, but this is ridiculous, haven't even started on the belt yet, got bits all over the place, no room in...
How do these come out?, tried piercing with with a sharp screw driver and broke it, bit wary of using big screw driver, thanks. A while later, now tried a big screw driver but despite tearing it, it still dosnt want to come out.
