Head gasket went on my daughters 1.2 8v not long after buying it, Had little value so didn't want to spend money on it. So first thing bought the cheapest h/gasket kit I could find, then stripped engine down and removed cyl head. I then got some medium grit wet and dry...
Cannot believe how many phase 1,s and phase 2,s really are being broken, Used to be terminal rust was the only good reason to break a car, but these are rust free, still will just make mine rarer.
Yeah but as ive fitted the rear whiteline ive changed the balance so i think a thicker front one would restore it, i just seem to have more body roll than i like, its only a road car so dont want to go too stiff on springs.
They are just wheels, something to put your more important tyres on, going along the road they,ll look like a set of standard 172 (phase1) wheels anyway.
Sorry, what dont get you, i saw the original post and didnt think of any advice i could give, i then saw the advice to take the other wheel of and thought brilliant, couldnt believe that it didnt cross my mind to do that.
My first 172 (108,000 miles ) had a very noticeable kick, could really feel it, my latest (62,000) has absolutely no kick at all, the engine note changes but nothing happens.
If moneys tight brakes and suspension do not need upgrading, perfectly adequate as they are. Mine are totally standard (as far as im aware) with just the addition of a whiteline rear anti roll bar, although i would like to lower it slightly eventually.
I made my own, dont have measurements to hand im afraid, but i didnt need any holes apart from the 4 holes for the bolts, made from aluminium and been on the car for a few months now, no problems. Think i drilled the holes 10.5mm and 8.5mm to allow for a bit of discrepancy.
