It will keep me on my toes for a while! It wasn't like I had ran out of talent it was just not paying attention! Not sure which one is worse. lol
I am getting the new Cup delivered and it hasn't cost me too much so I am hoping that by selling off any parts I don't need between the two cars...
Lovely car. I used to have a 265 Cup. I had the same wheels as you for my winter wheels but had them done black.
I had mine mapped with a Bluefin, had a scorpion exhaust and a BMC filter and it made 327 bhp on a dyno day (Against some 400 bhp focuses that only made 350bhp on the same rollers!)...
Well I am still offshore at the moment so not been able to do any hands on work but have managed to organise getting the Silver Cup back home thanks to a very long day for my Farther-in-Law which didn't cost me a penny which was also handy.
I have managed to buy a Blue 172 Cup that requires a...
Yeah it will start the car just like a normal jump pack. I watched a few videos on his facebook page which showed it starting a car with the battery not even connected.
Just ordered one of these at their introductory offer:

Also watched a few vidoes on it and looks pretty good. Will come in handy if running a...
I am breaking my 172 Cup for parts and was considering removing the whole front end away from the shell. Does anyone have any experience or tips on doing this?
I was thinking that if I remove the subframe mounts, strut top mounts, brake pipes, exhaust manifold, steering column, electrics...
I am not sure myself how to change one out to be honest. My plan is to just strip the whole front end of my crashed cup away from the shell and then just strip bits off from there. I would be willing to sell the gearbox once I have worked out how to get it off and share any info with you about...
Thanks for that. I was happy with the seating position with the original seat at its lowest height so the OMP subframes with side mounts might be ok for me.
Totally gutted to find out how rare the Silver actually was! Only 57 without climate control ever registered! I might just keep it and one day it will be like a Escort Mexico shell or something. lol
The back brakes can be done with a standard socket set and a torque wrench. Should take 2 hours max taking your time with messing around and doing it for the first time providing you have all the parts needed. I stripped them down to find there were spacers missing so had to wait for them to...
People seem to have misunderstood my plans. I am not giving up on my project but won't be using this silver cup. I am in the process of buying another cup and the project will continue. This means all the aftermarket parts or upgrades on my current car will be getting transfered over to the new...
Car is back at home now so when I am back from offshore will start stripping and putting parts up for sale. Anyone interested in anything just send me a PM. ;)
Looks good.
I am interested to hear how you find the seats height wise as searches show that people think the OMP seat frames are a bit high? I am considering them as they are much easier to fit than going down a custom route.
I just had an accident in my Silver Cup so looks like I will also...
Looks like a well looked after car. Would you not fancy doing the rear wheel bearing yourself? I just changed both rear discs including bearings and it wasn't that bad of a job. Depends how much labour it will cost you.
Yeah the bonnet is damaged which is why I took it off so it didn't fly off when being transported.
The brakes were spot on and maybe worked too well with the instinctive reaction. ABS would have helped for sure and maybe better tyres but the tyres I had on were better than the ones I had just...
Quite simply not paying attention as I was just driving along in a world of my own, 1% throttle straight road, lovely day, watching the world go by and then..... Holy Sh*t that van in front of me is stopped in the middle of the road! No ABS and just skidded into the back of a van with a big...
I have the Elite ones. They seem pretty good to me.
I got them because I didn't see the need to change the thread pitch, were cheaper than some others but I wanted black studs and nuts. They also had different length options which allowed me to get some suitable for the spacers size I...
Well I managed to get everything finished in the end. I removed the carbon canister and the fog lamp from the drivers side too. I will do the passenger side when I have more time and can relocate the horns.
Looks alright with the White wheels:
Prepare for a laugh!
Total d*ck head school...
