Will a 172cup gearbox go straight into a 182? I read about speedo drives etc but hoping this way will be ok and just don't need to used the speedo drive??

I had two horns too but I removed the bracket, removed one horn from the bracket and then mounted that horn directly to the chassis where the original bracket mounted. Doesn't sound as good with only one tone but i'm not that bothered.

Thanks for that. A little plug weld through the little hole should keep it in place so its easier to bolt and unbolt the eye bolt. Taking all these tips in ready for my build.

To be honest I was planning on fibreglassing it from underneath and then filling and smoothing from the top.

What do people recommend for a full on race car for the Tricolore Trophy? I can see you can spend £3500 for a set of AST but will I go much faster with these compared to a set of BC's for instance? What is a good compromise?

Do you have to weld the mounting plate or is it sufficient just to just use it to clamp to the shell with the eye bolt?

Thanks. The splitter is CMComposites. Not got a date in mind as it's going to be slow going as funds have dried up due to an unexpected tax bill so just going to tidy up the interior and get the labour work done that shouldn't cost much money. No rush as I have an other car as a run around.

Fitted the bonnet yesterday but forgot to post it: Not on any catches yet though just the hinges.

I think it's to do with the pink and white twisted wires. All mine went daft when I removed the OBD port too! I just ripped the lot out and going for a full custom race loom now.

Just not got round to it yet. It's a pita to remove so I have been doing other things that have more results for little time. I will have to get a heat gun and just spend some time removing it all sometime.

Shouldn't be a problem bolting them in and straightening them out but I just though it was odd that both sides have the same bit bent up at the same amount which is unlikely to occur during shipping or something.
