Looking at buying this for wiring up the EPAS. Looks like it will do the job and is cheaper than buying separate.

Check out this beast I have just acquired to cruise up and down to Aberdeen is so I don't have to endure ITB's, No interior and PMS Race exhaust anymore!
It runs a bit rough but I think its likely to be an air leak. Will see how it goes! lol
Glad you got it sorted in the end and worth the trouble.
I didn't find much increase in noise at all or vibration but my car is already very noisy.
If you WANT noise and vibration then you can get uprated engine and gearbox mounts or go the whole hog and get solid mounts but I wouldn't advise...
Ram air filter and 90 degree bend bad make your own for less than £40. It's been done before but search "Fattys kit" and you will see.
If you want to try a panel filter first I have a Green Cotton filter for sale I will sell.
I have just read the guide and it says the rack with part number 7700437055 is the one you want and has 2.75 turn to turn rack. I think I will buy one of these and sell on my Cup rack if I can.
EDIT. Just bought one for £30 and will speak to Autosteer Direct Tomorrow about getting it...
Which rack has the 3 turn lock to lock? I keep reading DCI but there is a lot of racks for sale on eBay. Even if I sell one of my 172 cup racks I will still have the other but how reusable it will be depends on if I cut the pipes off to remove it.
I think I have seen a link you posted earlier to a place that sells them. I haven't committed to buying them yet as I want to see on the rack exactly what it is I am blanking before I buy them. I am also searching the thread to see where it was suggested to send the rack to for overhaul.
Yes thanks. I will get a good look at it all when I am home. As per usual I do all my research and questions whilst offshore and then use the information to suss it all out properly when I get home. I also have two racks so could potentially use my crashed donor car to get the rack overhauled...
I bought the above items along with R14LYX's car. I have ready many pages of this thread (not all of them) but am not currently sure about how to wire it all up and exactly what I need to loop on the standard cup rack and what to lubricate if I drain all of the oil from the rack.
I wasn't even sure what parts to put the grease on so just smeared it about a bit. It's either corrosion protection, lubrication to press the bush in or for anti squeaking. Lol
Should take about 10 mins. It's already been out recently so just needs the two bolts removing, mount back out whack that old bush out with a hammer in a vice or a press if your feeling fancy, push the new bush in by hand, put it back in place as you have in your photos with the washers and put...
@Scoff I just thought you might like to have a look through my thread to get some background ready for when I come down for mapping next month. Anything I need to do first? Other than fit some Cams which would be nice! Lol
Any photos of it fitted to see what they have done? If you still have the washers you could perhaps fit them yourself. I have done it twice in the last two months.
I am bored at work so thought I would update this thread for other in the future:
I fitted a Jenvey Carbon 50mm back box and then a 65mm deep Pipercross filter. I had to remove the slam panel and inner skin from the bonnet and fit a smaller radiator:
You might not have to remove the air box. Firstly I would check what fuses have blown and see if you can find out what they are for. Check the relays for any external damage or melting of the casings and even check them all with a multimeter if possible. Check any cable for outer insulation...
I'm cream crackered at the moment! Just boarding a flight from Aberdeen to Shetland so will get half hours snooze now. Then another half hour on the Chopper and then I will be on shift until 18:30. Early night tonight I think!
A few photos:
Locktiting the trumpets:
Engine is tidy enough but I intend on shortening the throttle cable and also cleaning up the rocker cover which went fury as the silver car was left outside without the bonnet on:
Well that's me in Aberdeen parked up ready to make my way to the Airport. Apart from feeling like I have sand in my eyes everything is good. The car ran well. A few Tweeks required but nothing major. Booked in for mapping at EFI on the 18th April so anything that needs adjusting can be sorted then.
Tea was very nice too! The Mrs made chicken Jalfrezi with rice, garlic and coriander nan, samosas, onion bhaji and some dippy stuff like lime pickle and mango etc. Tried some new Ben and Jerrys ice cream that was on offer too. Peanut Butter and Cookie Dough! Was pretty good but I do like...
Had a busy day yesterday. Up early and used the jump starter pack for the first time on the quad to get that running and then I levelled the ménage and then put the quad battery on charge. Fed the goats, horses, chicks and chickens all before 8am. Then spent until lunch time finishing off the...
I have a full box of Jubilee clips of all sizes here so could put two on the top and bottom. Have also been looking at forge coolant hose kits but I have a feeling they are a waste of money. Specially seeing as I have another full set off my other engine.
