I loved the Megane. Only sold it to free up monthly outgoings and get a bigger deposit to move house. Bought a cheap Scooby to replace it with but decided to go back to Renaultsport.
Form my experience as long as the font is right and the letters are the right size and spacing you don't get any trouble. All my cars for the last 12 years have had show plates on them and I have never had any bother.
I was hoping I could get away with a 3/4 plate on the front.
Yeah I think so. As long as it's the right font, size, reflective and has the BS number and manufacturers post code on them. I don't think flags and logos on the left side is legal now other than the Euro flag and GB.
Also had a chance to play with the car. Still getting some brackets made up for the radiator but started on the Aerocatches on the bumper.
Total nightmare as the angle of the metal work is different to the angle of the bumper so the metal work and pins need a lot of manipulation to fit adjacent...
Also made a start with the radiator fitting:
Apprears a 14" fan fits perfectly! I did measure it before ordering. ;)
In position ready for measuring up for brackets.
And it's very handy to have the car in a fab shop!
I would like a 3/4 front plate but feel £32.50 is a bit steep for a set of plain plates apart from the front being 84mm high. Anywhere else do custom sized plates?
I can get a pair of standard sized plates for £10 delivered so cant bring myself to pay the extra for a small front one.
Oh and took advantage of 50% off.
Now I know they aren't Snap On but I already have a similar set but smaller and it has been fantastic over the last 15 years and comes with lifetime guarantee. Take away the brand snobbery and I cant fault them. I just needed an extended range of sizes as I...
A few photos of the little 17 year old pony that arrived yesterday. Retired from a trekking center so now at ours just to chill out for the rest of its days and keep the horse company. It wont win any shows but has a cute little face! Only been there for a few minutes and they just stood...
The first engine I removed with a forklift as it was available during the week. The second engine we did with the hoist which I borrowed from a friend. Was easier with the fork lift mind you!
I will weigh the batteries and let you know the difference. I ordered it with the jump start pack which...
Thanks for the support.
I have managed to buy some more time by borrowing a car again to get myself up to Aberdeen for another course. Been up and down the 500 mile round trip 3 time in the last two weeks which is seriously hampering my progress.
At the moment I need a cut out in the bumper...
I am away from home so can not check for myself so can anyone please tell me what power the original radiator fan is.
I am looking at buying an 80 or 120 watt fan but don't want to overload the original circuitry.
I have fitted my ITBs with 90mm trumpets and large filter so am having to replace the standard radiator. I have picked up a Polo one brand new from a local motor factors and will get a bracket made up to get this fitted. I am aware of the bigger golf one that people also use but wasn't sure if...
Oh and you may have noticed that I said I have had the car running but now it's got no radiator on again. Turns out the big box and filter won't fit with the original radiator so I have gone down the Polo route. No mounting solution is obvious so will make up some brackets tomorrow to hold it in...
I knew it would be a tight fit so I marked up under the bonnet and then started to remove the inner skin so the bonnet would close and leave room for the filter.
Did a rough job on the rough bonnet and fitted these bonnet catches for now to keep it secure until I get the Aero Catches sorted (my...
