Washed the car last night as it was dusty, wanted to get a proper look at the dent. Once clean it didn't look as bad, but still noticeable. Went down and spoke to the general manager at the garage. He had a good look at the car, chatted for a few minutes about the car and the dent, the time line...
Even though I left the garage they are still responsible. I will see what the manager says when I show him tomorrow. Could do without the hassle, maybe my faith in good customer service will be upheld when they offer to get it fixed. If they tell me to take a hike I will get it done myself...
I used to be a mechanic years ago so never usually let anyone else work on my car, if I do it I know its right. When it comes to MOT no choice but to entrust it to a garage. So I booked it in, took it down, waited and drove home. Unfortunately it failed on a couple of minor point (bits ordered...
I am kinda hoping the ballast is fine. The new bulb tested ok once installed. I replaced both, one side had an Osram that was working, the blown one was a Philips. For all I know the person that put the Philips in touched the glass and that caused it to fail prematurely. No way to know I suppose...
True dat. I don't usually like letting other techies work on my car; guess I will have to this time (visions of them sitting on my alacantra with dirty overalls).
Spent some time tinkering with the Clio today. I have had one headlight bulb not working for a few weeks, got a pair of Philips HID bulbs on the net for £84 delivered. As I also wanted to change one of the headlight washer jets that has an intermittent leak I went with taking the bumper off...
Checked with the Renault dealer today after reading this thread. Mine has not had the bonnet catch recall done. Not sure if I am going to take it in if all they do is lube up the one that is on there, if they fitted a new one I would go for it.
Many plans..... lowering will come at some point, just getting the basics as I want them at the moment (only had it 6 weeks). Getting some decent stereo kit in there is high on the list, although next month it will be spark plugs and a decent panel air filter. I am pretty sure the car will never...
Made the most of the lovely sunny afternoon outside giving the Clio a proper good clean. Wash, wax, hoover, touched up a few stone chips, conditioned the leather, glossed the tyres, put some cliosport forum stickers in and got rid of the 'Elf' sticker from the back window.Took a few pics on the...
Like iimushroomzii said, carpet first, don't cut the hole until you measure the sub. The last couple of boxes I built I lined with wadding, seemed to take the harsh edge off the sub and gave it a really nice sound. I used 1" thick wadding sheet stuff that I got from a fabric shop, the sort of...
In an ideal world I would have gone for Michelin PEs, but they are about £100 each. I drew the same conclusion as you that Toyo appear to be the most recommended alternative. I bought 4 from blackcircles.com delivered to my house for £204. Took them to the local tyre guy who fitted and balanced...
First impressions; not a conclusion.
I did that as soon as I got home (I have one of the little 12volt tyre pumps). 34psi in the front, 30psi in the rear; thats what was in the Clio handbook anyway.
I had the same on the drivers side (common issue apparently) but it stopped leaking on its own after a few weeks. I went to the Renault dealer and bought a new washer but they ordered the wrong side; so I have a brand new passenger side headlamp washer if you need to replace yours (you can have...
Got a set of 4 new Toyo Proxes T1-Rs fitted yesterday (195/45/16). First impressions are much less road noise that the previous mix that came with the car (Avons on the front, Continental Sports on the back). The car feels like it has much less rolling resistance, it glides along nicely. The...
So the heated rear screen on my 172 is still playing silly buggers. I bought a new switch but it didn't solve the problem where the heated rear screen comes on when I start the engine and wont turn on or off from the switch.
Next thing I want to do is replace the relay/s. Went to the Ren'...
