Re: Spax quality issues seemed to have been brushed under the carpet..... How stran I am shocked that thread got taken down as several people also expressed simular problems. Yes some things said were a bit damaging to certain people and not really called for IMO but just clean the thread up...

Well considering 12000 is the average mileage a year that isn't really that high. If that was for sale 3 months ago I would have snapped that up!

All depends on the service history, belts dephaser and condition. If all is done and good can't see why it wouldn't fetch nearer the 2.5k mark

Well to throw a spanner in the works, but when I used the rs tuner on my cup I was told on here and by the rs tuner software I needed a 7300 map for the 172 cup. Henk sent me a 8200 182 map, which I questioned him about as I got the don't upload warning on the laptop. However he said do it and...

I wouldn't say it's worth that. I have learnt the hard way by buying a 172 with no history as my last one soon developed problems. If I was you I'd spend the extra £500 odd and get one from here with history and belts done right. Will save you money in the long run!

Agree with the above I have used a rs tuner map on both my 172s, great bit of kit especially for the price.

These ones need a refurb as the paint on the back has come off and has started to bubble on the front, tyres are beyond f**ked and the tyre place said one seemed buckled. Plus bit of kurbing on two wheels

Where did you see them? Only reason I ask is I had a nightmare with some on eBay and had to send them back and lost a fair amount of money. The seller was based in Sheffield area, the were black with fullrun tyres. If it sounds familiar pm me and I'll give you more details.

As my insurance is up this week been looking around. Tried confused and best was £530 odd full comp. now I have a few mods on or going on, so updated the quote to include exhaust, wheels, air filter and lowered up 25mm. Udate prices and cheapest is nearly 1k!!! There is no way I am paying that...

Sounds like it might be your carbon canister. Put your head by the drives headlight and it should be loudest there
