But you'll hit the cord on one side whilst 3/4s of the tyres is perfectly usable. Easily double its remaining life by switching the shoulders round.
Or maybe just get his tracking looked at lol :p
Usually i'd agree as ktec is generally just the over priced middle man but i got mine in one of their 'trackday extreme' packages and got both the discs and pads for a very generous saving. Not to mention you'll be lucky to find Carbon Lorraines anywhere but specialist stockists ( Ktec, Demon...
Isnt all that hard work part of the enjoyable experience of driving such a 'classic' motor.
My old 205 GTI had a silly twitchy throttle, no PAS, idled like a tractor and manual engine fans but i loved driving it! felt so involved.
Brembo HC discs and carbon lorraine RC5+. Works fine on the road and fadeless on the track. Tougher discs stand a chance of lasting longer with the sintered pads aswell in my experience.
Yes mine are very much like this, but on the assumption its for track use and he's burned out a shoulder IMO i dont see any dangerous problem from running it backwards IN THE DRY.
The purpose of the physical tread lines is to dispel water to prevent aquaplaining, the rest of the tyre IE the...
Lol personally cant see it being a problem, its the treadless part that grips the road and thats not directional...
In the wet would be a different story.
Okay its been ages since an update has happened so finally got round to taking some photos so you can all see whats been accomplished over christmas.
So first things first my clutch pedal was always stiff and a little juddery so i really wanted to get that box off and swap it over. Had a long...
Ph1s are getting thin on the ground, and a good example even more so.
no doubt with the track dayers and strippers choice of model the numbers will continue to drop so will become more exclusive, but I doubt it'll attract any real price increase... Unless its a minter ;)
I read on ktecs website they don't bother matching the two parts of the inlets anymore as they couldn't find any gains on the dyno. Far as I'm concerned this has always been the No.1 mod for clios, guessing all these years it was a waste of time after all lol?
The small one that leads to the fuel rail? Pretty sure 182 manifolds have that too. I wondered if the throttle body plates are different? ( cable vs fly by etc. ).
Got a set of RS stamped inlets in the garage and I read they are supposed to be an improvement, but I also read they don't fit ph1 172s. Without offering them up together why are they incompatible exactly?
And to confirm I intend to fit them to a phase one model.
As simple as turning the stop screw on the throttle body or does it need ecu mapping?
it idles just over 600rpm currently and it's lumpy as a tractor with a misfire and occassionally has a little struggle pulling away slowly, think it need 100rpm more or so. Thanks
Update,
Tomorrow im spending the weekend doing the clutch on this as my driveshaft failed this afternoon so thought its the perfect excuse to get that noisy release bearing out. Top marks to Renault southend who ordered up a driveshaft overnight for me and with a 15% discount! Still expensive...
I love ph1s but cant stand this silver and yellow detailing EVERYBODY does, it looked good 5 years ago but its been done to death now and i think its starting to look a little tired. Those calipers would look better silver ;)
I had a similar budget for my ph1 and went for KW Variant 1 basic kit ( means they arent stainless and they knock off £200! ) Just a touch over £600 for delivery with Demon Tweeks and cant fault KW quality!
Really happy with them 5000 miles on.
lol at people slaggng off Vtec engines, its not exactly like the clios have 180lb/ft at 3000rpm!
Never owned anything not french but been in a few civics, seem identical to clios on the straights but clio has better chassis ;)
How can you say that if you havent even been in an ITB'd car on the road let alone raced one around a track? The throttle response and mid range torque with massively high rpm power all make for an amazing drive. Not to mention the noise they make will always better the sound of a dyson under...
