Unfortunately I looked into this and gave up, just painted the inlets instead.
to get it to fit you'd have to completely remove the rear fixing points and i bet it'd rattle like a b**ch with just the two front bolts :(
cover fits under brace but rubs as the engine moves and no room for bolts...
Duct tape and cable ties have always been in the boot of all my RenaultSports lol, learned that lesson when my arch liner came off and dragged for miles down the road cos I couldn't get the bugger off the car on a London tunnel run!
Check battery voltage. My 172s alternator recently failed and no charge warning light displayed on the dash so I was unaware. As I progressed with using it the headlights died, then I got random warning lights on dash and the engine became very rough as the ignition weakened. Eventually died at...
Okay so the pads will be fine by the sounds of it. Unfortunately I'm not looking to carry that much just what will fit into a luggage bag.
so basically:
spare wheel
aux belt
coil pack.
job done :)
I like the coilpack defo sticking that in a bag, just had new plugs and Magnecor leads so fingers crossed they'll hold up.
Will OEM pads suffice for a couple gentle laps or just melt and kill the drive?
End of next month me and the misses are heading out to Germany for a long weekend on our own, this being the first time to the Nurburgring ring for us.
Due to the long distance and dangers involved I've decided to leave the 265 at home and take my 172 daily. Should save me a bundle in fuel...
And replaced it with this:
MeganeSport 265 Trophy No. 03/50 in Liquid Yellow.
12k on the clock, pretty much mint inside and out. Had dealer replace the drivers seat base as it was a little worn, apart from that it drives beautifully. So much more refined than the 197 and its like...
Well, after 5 joyful years of ownership the 197 finally parted my ownership Saturday gone. Its gone to a top fella whos replacing his 911 GT3 with a cheaper trackday alternative, to who i hope it gives many more years of enjoyment.
Been a roller coaster during my time in the 197 but i hold only...
I for one expect this car to be quite special despite being written off before its release by enthusiasts everywhere. Really looking forward to a test drive!
I have reds on the 172, misses has blue on the 182. Didn't notice any difference when swapping them from standards and don't notice any difference in the two cars ( apart from the obvious 172/182 lark. )
I'd need proof of that megane engine mileage, 30k 230 lumps aren't exactly two a penny. And even still I think it's expensive, 10k would be closer to the mark
Downright unprofessional end of the day, on Facebook of all places.
I know nothing of mapping as most potential customers wouldn't, when two of the leading companies start slating eachothers maps are dangerous how are we to know otherwise. It's all abit messy really lol. Bloody good read though!
I had same problem last weekend mate after having a dead battery replaced. I tried everything and it wouldn't work. Then as a last hope I disconnected the battery and reconnected it after 5 minutes then bingo key fob worked!? Worth a shot.
Lol good read this. Always thought ktecs power figures were 'optimistic' with their 220bhp clio 200 cam package, elsewhere identical setups are only getting 205-210bhp. Having said that all personal experiences with ktec over the years have all been positive, I've had a couple of workshop issues...
With the 403s I ran it was advisable to delete VVT not to mention with the cam cover laser cut out the exhaust cam can be adjusted in seconds on the dyno. If your keeping the revs above 5k I see little more the VVT can do. Have driven same car with 402s and VVT and 403s with solid pulleys and...
FAO Chip I have Verniers on the 197 via VVT delete and find it to deliver power much smoother than standard, IMO it's beneficial on track where you can keep the revs high, no counter productive...
Am I missing the point here? Driven a 225 and the gearing is noticably higher than the clios, presumably to take advantage of the mid range torque. Can't see that working in the revvy clios. Wouldn't you be better off fitting a 197 box?
Really don't rate the throttle feel on my ph1 anyway, seems very unprogressive in travel and quite stiff too. Not to mention the throttle bodies suffer from sticking throttles due to butterfly valve wearing prematurely!
