Yeah good shout, the bonnet sets the alarm when it is open and then shut but like you say, the switch could have water present and shorting the circuit (I have no idea if this is possible!!). Back to my daily commute next week so hoping the heat will evaporate off and all will be ok!

Had 2 87W PS3's tyres fitted on the front of the Trophy and handling feels rather odd to say the least. Are the XL 87W tyres likely to make the car feel difference to a major extent over the 83V's? Have read that the XL tyres have stiffer sidewalls so wondering if the tyre is not moving enough...

Same problem here, mine bangs from 1st to 2nd with a hard change and occasionally from 2nd to 3rd. Have changed gearbox oil to the level but not replaced mounts yet. Thinking of the K-Tec solid mounts and see what happens when fitting. Read that you cannot tell if a mount is worn by hand, you...

Mine looks the same as yours at 50k miles! Wondering if the rubber wears as shown allowing the mount to move more? Just got my hands on a dogbone mount with powerflex bushes so going to try this first!

Fair point, although it all depends on the use. Love 172 Cups and how they are more basic and 'stipped down' than an equipped 172/182 - also much cheaper to service! My Trophy is driven daily and ABS is rather useful in the winter!

Have decided to attempt to 'tighten' everything up on the Trophy and first move will be poly bushes on the dogbone mount. Seem to have a lot of engine movement since I have been utilising the higher rev range following RS Tuner remap. Wondering whether to just replace the dogbone mount bushes...
