Further update, took the car to my friends garage yesterday and fault seems to be related to the MAP sensor.
Easy enough to replace but would a tiny sensor really cause a major problem?
Would there be a reason why the EML light came on once only and cleared itself? (before the trip to his garage)
Have had no engine issues with the T and have it serviced regularly.
Of late, my engine management light came on once and went away after I turned the car off and on. Have since had a feeling that car is 'holding back' and does not feel quite right.
Plugs checked and seem ok, coil pack less...
Ouch!
Have seen worse at work (deal with total loss claims for a hire company).
Hope the driver / passengers came out ok.
Engine cover looks salvageable.....
Put all mine back together on Thursday and had alignment setup but still did not feel right. Found out the front wheels needed balancing after I thought the tyre place would have done this when the new tyres were fitted! Place up the road from me said the wheels had no weights on either...
Yes only one in Torbaydos lol! Car is off the road following a major suspension overhaul, should be back on the road by the weekend when my front alloy is refurbed and new tyre arrives!
Did you pm me? Just deleted my inbox so please resend ;-)
I rock and bounce my suspension all the time and no sign of any problem. Would strongly take dampers off for a thorough physical inspection. Going forwards will be taking mine off every 3 months to clean / check.
How often do you adjust the dials? I got into the habit of adjusting mine all...
Had the front end of mine 'refreshed' with new ball joints, bearings, ARB bushes and top mounts only to get a call from my mechanic 'did you know you have oil leaking from one of your shock absorbers'? Was stunned as had mine refurbed in May 2010 and never expected them to fail so quick.
I...
Wish I had done this!
Cost me near on £1k, 2 aux belts kits, a replacement alternator beaaring and then alternator mount got damaged (luckily aux belt did not take out cam belt).
You always learn the hard way!
Driving a Saxo Vtr, 1998 model as a runaround and when I get back in mine everything feels immensely tight, steering precise and brakes absolutely outstanding!
Unbelievable.
Remember my old Ax GT cabriolet got advisory for 'chassis flex', hardly surprising considering they were made of paper.
Have had some major MOT failures in the past, anyone got any classics?
