I've had water in the boot and the rear bench, so changed the seals by the lights. Still had water there after that, so changed the aerial base. Now the passenger footwell is drenched so it must be the scuttle drains. Passenger one comes out in the top of the wheel arch and pots out quite...
Lots of helpful tips there - thanks for those. Tomorrow's job looks like foam removal then. I just hope I don't need to take the seat out. A good squeeze and a few hours in front of the dehumidifier should do the trick. I've also noticed a lot of water held in the foam bit higher up in the...
How did you guys remove the foam underlay in the front foot wells without damaging it? I started to remove mine as it was sodden, but it goes all the way under the centre console and appears to be one piece for the whole front of the car. I was thinking about cutting it out (the wet bit) and...
My money is on your aerial base. I'm having the same issue with my 182. Unclip the headlining around the tailgate opening and put your hand inside to where the aerial bolts to the roof. If your hand comes out wet then that'll be your leak source.
Update: pulled a bit of the headlining down from the boot opening. I couldn't see the aerial base but put my hand to it and it is definitely leaking from there. Where I've removed the rear seats there were puddles where the seats would normally be, so it must be running down the c or b pillars...
Tried again to find the leak. Used a watering can. Seals near the lights are fine. Couldn't replicate the leak. It rained and yet again, water in the boot. Following the trail of water, it seems to be coming from in side the rear near side wing above the lights. In my mind, it can only be from...
Checked today. There's still a small puddle in the boot! Not sure where it's coming from! I think maybe the tailgate isn't sealing tight against the seal. The tailgate sticks out a little when shut. Can it be adjusted at the lock/catch?
Changed the bump stop seals near the taillights today. Renault part number is 7700423111. Siliconed too for good measure. Now to wait and see if it fixes the problem, then on to drying the car out!
Right. Changed the seals today. Renault part number is 7700423111. Siliconed too for good measure. Now to wait and see if it fixes the problem, then on to drying the car out!
Well I only noticed it when I swapped out the boot carpet. Good job I did really. Just annoying I can't fix it yet as its been lashing down all night here!
Just stumbled across this as a result of a search. Couldn't find the source of the leak in my boot. I was convinced it was the tailgate seal after a repair following an accident. However, after reading this I noticed that the rubber seals mentioned above were loose and were letting in loads of...
Quite a few people on here saying the RS3 has quite a soft sidewall. Has anyone tried the extra load/reinforced version to see if it makes any difference?
Replaced the boot carpet only to find water pooling on the boot floor. No idea where it's coming from! Also then found front passenger footwell is damp too! Aaarrrrggghhhh!
+1 for that happening to me too. Only had the car a month and did a track day. An hour in and it dropped a valve. When Mike @Rentech swapped out the engine for me, he showed me the broken one. It wasn't opened up but you could see the valve head missing and loads of swarf coming out of the...
I do a lot of shift work so drive on unlit rural roads a lot and have found the standard high beam to be just fine. My xenons on this 182 were poor until I used a 3M headlight restoration kit in them. The cloudiness really affects the light output.
I got these metal pressed ones for my Dad's car. Really pleased with how they turned out.

Got fed up with my Connects2 iPod adaptor repeatedly becoming disconnected behind the dash and not being able to change tracks, so I pulled out the head unit and cable tied the connector to the Connects2 box. Hopefully that'll be the last time I have any problems with it.
I had the RS2 and RS3 on my old Focus. I thought the 2s were fantastic in the wet but strangely wafty in the dry. The big downside was the noise as they wear down. Sounded like a wheel bearing had gone! The 3s are better in every respect. Much better with noise, but only marginally better in the...
Would anyone be able to measure the length of the Velcro strap in the boot of a 182 (the one that holds the toolkit/jack) and let me know as mine has gone missing and I'd like to replace it. Thanks :)
Mine had been disconnected by the previous owner. What they had done (I'm led to believe that this is the correct way to do it) was to take each pipe that goes to the headlight washers and connect them together using one of the pipe connectors behind the bumper. This way, the pump still works...
Finally got my 182 back from the bodyshop after it got written off. I bought it back and got it repaired with the payout. Great to back in the old girl. Strangely, the boot carpet now doesn't fit, as it looks to small???
