Hi,
I took my wheel hubs off today to get new bearing pressed in, unfortunately the mechanic managed to bend the part that the brake carriers bolt onto...
It was a job done on the quiet for free so I couldnt complain too much however in the process my new bearings were busted quite badly...
Right, this definitely isn't the PAS pump or the wheels rubbing on the arches.
It seems to come from the drivers side and I have tried replacing the drive shaft which didn't help.
Thanks
James
Ah, this is entirely possible as I did it myself - I followed the guide on here and used a new tensioner, however I did use a cheap torque wrench.
Can you please explain how it can be cocked up? any idea how to check or rectify the problem?
I remember having to put the little "tooth" of the...

Hi All,
I have a strange noise that seems to be coming from the exhaust, its like a loud hum that appears at 3krpm then goes and comes back as the revs increase, the higher the gear - the louder the noise - sort of like "whir whir whir whir"
the noise goes away when the clutch is...

Yeah it could be wheel bearing I suppose, Im sure when you put the clutch in the noise remains - I will try to confirm this soon. I remember speaking to a motor factor about wheel bearings and they said that the wheel bearings are normal (ie press into the hub) and that they arent in the disk...
Hi,
Just noticed a strange noise coming from seemingly the rear of the 172,
Its a sort of droning noise, it appears at around 40mph and it changes pitch when accelerating, it starts like wuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum then as you speed up becomes wuuuuuum wuuuuuum wuuuuum wuuuum wuum wum wum wum...
Hi,
My rear exhaust mount has broken so I ordered up a new one, I have a rather pap powerflow exhaust and upon trying to fit the new mount I realised that it is the wrong size/type.
The type I need holds the exhaust from the uses the same fixings as the standard square shaped mount but seems...

Yeah sorry forgot to mention I have a 172 ph2, Just a month before ESP was standard...
I think it would be a useful thing to have aswell as cruise control.
I wont be buying another clio, I would like to find out whats involved :)
Hi everyone,
I have searched but cannot find a definitive answer, especially with regards to ESP.
So does anyone know what it would take to retrofit ESP?
Thanks
James
