While the wheels do fill the arch,s and look better, do they not ruin the driving experience, does it not make it torque steer more when you try to put the power down ?
Thinking about replacing my very worn steering wheel but am concerned about the airbag, is it a self contained unit, does it just clip of and back on, will it still work, will it go of in my face, thanks in anticipation.
Was feeling the replies to this chap were a bit unfounded, untill he comments about 3o plus driving a clio. im 60 and drive a 172, its fun and im not dead yet, so i have to agree you are a pratt.
Yeah on ebay , paid slightly less than the asking price, drove 150 miles home and its lovely (so far) and thers several monsters in the shed and they have eight legs.
Some missconceptions on here 50/60 isnt old (im 56) 100 is old, and once an enthusiast always an enthusiast, when current i drove modded mg midget, ford anglia, escort mexico, rs2000, dolomite sprint, 205 gti and just sold my phase 1 172 so i can afford to spend some money on my modded mk1 golf.

This has never worked on my daughters 1.1 s reg phase2 clio, while doing the h/gasket was no problem i dont even understand how pressing a button makes something work several feet away. Can anyone give me any pointers how to remedy this, cheers. Oh and the cars not really woth spending money on...
Went out tonight and the above lights went out, warning lights still worked, 30 mile journey and they stayed of, about 5 miles into return journey they came back on and stayed on. Is this one of those common clio faults?, cheers
Just before xmas something flew up and whacked my screen (hell of a bang) and i now have a 2 foot crack. If i had a spare screen and they were rubbered in it wouldnt be a problem. Also the price of a new one, i have seen new ones advertised on ebay for £50 but not local to me, so before i have a...
I have never studied this area but assuming there is a one piece metal tube inside the bush that is a tight fit inside the mounting points when the bolt is tightened then any movement under normal driving would be difficult i would think, as the one tight fitting hole would suffice.
A spring with a coil cut of and the end reformed is not going to discolate anymore than a similiar length apex/eibach or any other spring, common sense is the name of the game by not cutting of too many coils.
Changing the head gasket on my daughters 1200 8 v clio, the haynes says no 1 cyl is next to the flywheel, is that right? every car i have done so far no 1 has always been the opposite end to the flywheel, thanks.
