Definite power increase at just over 5000 i reckon, very noticeable in 2nd/3rd, steering wheel starts twitching as the extra power induces a little torque steer, and mines on 105,000.
That was quick, its because i just happen to have an as new pair of jenveys from my previous project that i will never get my money back if i sell them, so if i go ahead with this i am committed to using really.
Looked at the jenvey site and couldnt see one, so are inlet manifolds available anywhere to fit the dcoe flange type throttle bodies to the 172 type engine, thank you.
Will hopefully be getting a new exhaust for my x reg 172 in the near future, preferables are straight through performance system, stainless, subdued sounds, single tailpipe that dosnt look like a huge piece of guttering sticking out the back, any reccomendations? thank you
No its on fifteens but as they are all kerbed and mostly bald could do with replacing, would probably keep 15,s for financial reasons but wonderd about 17,s
Removed everything up to the bulkhead except the pump, dont think its the pump making the noise so i will leave it in place for now and come back to it.
Tried pressing the button, the rev counter went to 8000, speedo read sixty while standing still but didnt really understand anything else, wish i hadnt bought this and spent the money on my mk1 golf gti.
The more i look the more i find, the wires have been pulled out of the connector and one taped so looks deliberate but i have no idea what its for, thank you
I have seen that and very nice but i am extremely poor, seems i just need an idler wheel to replace the aircon pump and a slightly shorter belt, if i had access to a lathe/milling machine reckon i could knock something up, but as i dont suppose i better start saving.
My aircon hasnt worked in the 8 weeks i have owned the car, there is also something making a noise in that area so i want to remove aircon pump to eliminate it. Obviously the drive belt will then be too long, is it as simple as getting a different one from another model.......or not? thank you.
Decided to remove the under engine tray om my recently purchased 172 and if it shows this is what i found, a unlovely welded repair, anyone on here responsible?
i purchased a powerflex dogbone kit for my phase 1 (i believe after joining this site) but i think i have a phas 2 twisted bar kit, anyone confirm or deny, part no PFF 60 211K, thank you
Hi, new to the club and clio,s, like what your doing, i have picked up a x reg 172 i also happen to have a set of jenveys and an emerald ecu from my previous car. My worry is what problems i might encounter elsewhere if i was to remove the existing ecu, any advise? cheers
If they are like my x reg 172 then dead easy, just drill out the 5 ? rivets at the bottom , maybe a screw at front cannot remember if it was in the wing or skirt.
well removed the sill cover, removed a large amount of wet black road filth from underneath it which im sure would have made the sill very rusty sooner rather than later so covers will not be going back on. Loosely trial fitted a wing which seems to fit ok, so, so far all systems go.
Well i genuinely prefer the looks of the lesser models, but the power handling of the of the 172, i have also got the complete front panel/valence/spoiler so hopefully it will all fit/line up. As for any respraying, i have never been interested in washing, polishing shiny paintwork on my cars.
