    Bottom end bearings gone what are my options?

    Just put a secondhand engine in it thats had belts recently. They are everywhere. Don't sell it for £500, thats a rediculous idea.

    Being a VW I assume they could add cruise to it if you wanted it later fairly quickly. Didn't take long on our Tiguan. Lovely car Rob.

    Rocker cover/cam seal fitting

    Loctite stuff from Halfords is fine. I'd torque it down first, let it go off overnight and then put the cam seals in the next day. As Fred said DON'T push them all the way in. I made that mistake...

    I've thought about replacing the throttle cable but it does appear quite a new one. I can't see any damage to it. Engine seems fine mate, save for the idle issue. It pulls well, or seems to, so i'm quite chuffed with that bit. I've also built a 'spare', it's sitting on the stand in the garage...

    It is a cable throttle, with an ICV, if it's a phase 1.
