I’m looking at about 8k out of mine reasonably hard driving, few launches ect and I run them at 41psi I wouldn’t say they’re that bad the Golf is a heavy boy too 😂. The mrs has a 1.8tsi 5f Leon with PS4’s all round they’ve worn at pretty much the same rate as mine. Each to their own but I will...
Has anyone tried Eagle F1 SuperSports? I run them on my stage 2 Golf R been really happy with them, similar money to PS4’s but equivalent to 4s’s in terms of performance.
It’s a nice colour when polished, hides the grime unlike my previous BG!
No plans for a cage, in all honesty the last thing I want to do at the moment is gear it towards track, as it’s mostly used as a weekend car/daily back up a fast road set up suits me. ?
update:
HT leads went bad so changed and serviced the car with NGK laser iridium plugs, Elf oil and oem Renault filter 4th service with this set up, it’s only been 4,500ish (6-7months) since the last oil change but for £35 odd seems worth it to me.
Misfire troubles continue, but will hopefully...
Hmm.
I changed all the leads which was the only thing I bought in all fairness i had everything else as spares/service kit.
It was running great for approx a month until the lead went ?
Ht lead failed last week so replaced with genuine part, still wasn’t right so plugged it into a snapon reader which showed no faults (also no lights on dash) but the pre cat o2 sensor was going wild ranging from 50 to 750 whereas the postcat was only varying by ten points. Changed o2 sensor and...
Changed the leads and it fixed it. Went to Euro in the end £21 with a discount was couldn’t be bothered to order one it was bugging me! Also stripped and painted the inlet and fuel rail guard to kill time.
Here’s a good link I found earlier - https://mechanics.stackexchange.com/questions/28561/what-are-the-benefits-of-a-lightweight-flywheel-and-why-arent-they-lightweight
Morning all,
Have a reconditioned gearbox in the garage ready to go in but was holding back because i’d like to know what everyone’s experiences are with lightened flywheels? To me it makes sense to do it while everything’s out.
Where’s the best place to pick one up? Not overly interested in...
Interesting point the attached photo was taken at caffeine and machine (anyone who hasn’t been should go it’s ace). The owner of the EP3 to my left is actually a previous owner of my car and we met by chance, small world.
After buying my second 182 2 and a bit years ago i thought i’d finally start a project thread.
My first 182 was a BG FF with 34k purchased back in 2015. Loved it but had to sell up when I went to uni.
Current car is a Titanium 182 with 104k been a journey to say the least.
Current spec...
Had a Sorento and a sportage couldn’t speak more highly of them. We tow 3.5t most days. Cheap motoring bar the tax and pretty good trim spec on the titans!
Update - Topmounts fitted the bearing where ruined so i’m glad they were changed!
Also took the opportunity to for a set of K-tec coilovers i purchased recently. Cars seems to drive nice but will need re-setting up. Is it worth paying to have a full geo set up?
Morning all,
Purchased a set of KTR coilovers and i’ll be looking to change my top mounts at the same time (makes sense really). Question is do I go for solid top mounts or another variant?
Driving is purely road and no track work.
Thoughts/recommendations welcome! ?
Sabre or ageas on a young drivers scheme. Sit down with a broker and let them walk you through it you’ll find most will allow for provisional cover and a small increase once she has passed her test.
