Just to re-boot the thread how much are we talking about for a re-build nowadays? As above mine crunches from 2nd to 3rd above 4k. When having it re-built is it worth upgrading anything?

Tbh i sat at 40ish the way up in traffic roadworks on the m45/m1 but was happy coasting at the speed limit on the way home ;)

Went up to Yorkshire this weekend about a 310 mile round trip, car was faultless tbh - just ticked out 100k and still returning 350miles + 50 left in tank and late 30’s mpg!

Just in case anyone was interested - the soft cover for the aux pully had fould causing the belt to wear and partially snap - fixed in about 1.5 hours phew

It was, guessing somethings flicked up and damaged it - wheel arch liners were removed before i bought the thing

Good news! The aux belt has worn causing the noise so an easy fix. The silver b*****d lives!

Yeah all belts/dephaser changed approx 4k basically bought the kit from renault wolverhampton ago by a local specialist tbh i know he wasnt a garage but has done 3/4 previous with no problems ect Will have to get a video tbh was too scared to run it

Just an update family friend did mine for £250 labour and I bought the parts on ebay from renparts. Runs a dream now.

My delightful 30mile round trip to work is being ruined by a heatshield rattle - the rear by the silencer and fuel tank - can i take this off? Would heat wrap be adequate to stop the car from exploding? Do i even need to wrap it? - miltek fitted Cheers

Horizontal - tyres straight, gave them a yank and there was play? How do you check steering rack bushes? Is it an ars*?

Tyres fitted > 1000 miles ago and tracked so would of thought they were tracked correctly! Mot no advisories last month - however when i did the brakes there was play in the wheel when the car was on the stands and a slight clicking?

feels like the steering is walking around mid corner/over bumps beibg pulled to either side and under braking is the same possible track rods then?

Yeah i know but from what i’ve been reading its worth having the waterpump done as i’ve got no history for it since 50kish also might as well do the idler with the aux belt - as i said i’m sure Mick does a great job but as I need my car back asap i don’t have the funds sadly.
