Interesting, i was on my dads insurance for my fiesta 1.6si from 17 to 21 years old. All modifications were listed and I was listed as main driver. The car was also insured at a different address to where my dad lived. It cost me £400 a year. Over 4 years i paid £1600.
On my insurance it would...
Im in a similar kinda boat at the mo, sold my M Roadster to save some money for boring things so bought a 182 with cup packs, now need more money for more boring things so looking to get either a 172 cup or FF172 . . . . need to test drive both i think :D
Drive a mini before saying they are sh1te!! Cooper S is a very good car, and once depreciation (or lack of it on a mini) is taken into account they are a better ownership prospect than a 182.
Not as much fun and slower than the 182 though, hence why i bought one :D
A mini one is a great car...
yup i get 6k :rasp: but id still rather it didnt get lost in depreciation, people may poo poo BMW's, but ive had 2 now, and lost no money on either . . .
To put a 'ring sticker on a car that has not visited the 'ring is a sin of the highest order.
Yes, it is only a sticker, but those are the rules.
End of :rasp:
Very nice, the guy that you bought the seats off, ie 'Bic' well i had his old Speedlines on my 'nana 106 . . .
TB engine was next on my shopping list, but i bought a 328i Sport instead . . .gay idea, regret, etc
Yup, get the piss ripped constantly, the car parks full of BMW's & Audi's, so i park my filthy dirty stripey 182 around the back - makes for an easier life.
Used to own an M Roadster, so i get the 'why did you sell that to buy a shitty clio' . . .
I dont care to be honest, ive had my fair...
Very interesting read. Re-affirms my belief that there is absolutely no point trying to extract more power out of my 182.
Thousands of money spent = a not overly impressive increase to 205bhp
Note 1 to Dave: when i want something quicker, buy something faster (like another M3) & revel in...
They are very good and a modded one, ie pugsport zorst & ramcooler, supersprint mani, cams & remap will be the same as a cup.
Remember though, your comparing a car that 'apparently' only has 120bhp vs a car from the hot hatch class above with '172bhp'.
Compare like with like, ie 306...
I have a few:
When i had the 306 Rallye, parts desk told me categorically they never made a 306 Rallye. After arguing for 5 minutes i dragged him outside and showed him the car.
When i had my M Roadster, the service also bimbo assured me my car didnt exist and they never made one . . .
My...
If you dont notice a bloody huge yellow box and funny white lines on the road you need your eyes tested and your road awareness checked, not reflective number plates :)
When looking for quotations for 182, i spoke to numerous numpties . . . most of them female i might add :quiet:
A lot of companies, Direct Line wouldnt insure it as apparently the cup pack made it 'modified' and as i was under 25 they wouldnt insure it.
Other companies suggested that even...
Tesco 99, or Optimax/BP Ultimate if i cant find a tesco's.
Read Evo a couple of months ago . . . it wasnt Optimax that gave the most power, it was Tesco 99 :approve:
Ive had a 328i Sport & an M Roadster, sold the latter to buy the 182 . . . and i absolutely love it :D :D
Again i went to Renault, they wouldnt let me test drive a trophy or a 182, implied i was too young to afford the insurance and was simply time wasting.
I then asked if he could at least...
Personally i think that people should only comment on such things if they have experience through driving the 106gti and savo vts.
I have had the pleasure of owning 2 x 106 gti's and a 306 Rallye previous to the 182, and to be perfectly honest they are all brilliant cars :approve:
Speed...
I bought Tom Tom one last week, its brilliant, but takes about 3 minutes to find satellites initially - is that normal or do i need to get a replacement?
What sort of times do vlavers do at santa pod? I ran numerous times in my 106, both standard and modified:
Standard: Times ranging from 15.6 - 15.9
Modified with manifold/pugsport exhaust/induction: 15.1 - 15.3
It would have done high 14's easily and a friends with the same spec did...
All booked in at Renault for the 24k mile service just to be sure :) I did an oil change and checked it over at 12k so i know there nowt wrong with it . . . . runs like a dream
After some simple advice really. I bought the car 2 months ago on 10k and have since covered another 8k miles (yeah i know i cant stop driving it :approve: )
Now i was under the impression that the car would tell me when it wanted a service (like my BMW used to) so ive just been carrying on...
Same car, same weight, same speed, manufacturers figures are different as pug test with a passenger and full tank of fuel and citroen with no passenger and hardly any fuel.
Evo tested 106 gti at 7.4 to 60. Decent ones push out 130bhp as standard (ive had two :D).
Light breathing mods, ie...
It does make a sound yes, but if i were you id take it back and get a tomtom one . . thats what ill be getting later on today . . .signal is far far better with clios :)
