I bought one last week for the ph1 and everything was straight plug and play, impossible to go wrong. Took a few minutes to install, hardest bit was making sure the ballasts were strapped down.
Also bought those cree sidelight bulbs which are ten fold brighter than the standard ones.
Yeah they should already be on yours.
The part which won't be is the shocker dust covers, bottom image. You'll need a pair of those as they don't come with the Cup shocks.
Wouldn't bother with the water pump personally. Its only on the auxiliary set up anyway. Read new ones have failed in the past so replacing is no guarantee anyway. You could go on forever replacing stuff, new rockers, new valves, new cams, new head gasket, new piston rings, new oil pump blah...
Is a leak down test 100% accurate at pin pointing where the leak is coming from or does it just measure a more accurate loss than a compression tester?
You'll get a better conclusion once you test the standard airbox to set as a bench mark figure. At present it could be a case of which kit is making the biggest losses rather than the best gains.
I bought a 172 bottom end from ebay a while back but no idea if its a ph1 or ph2.
With there being two different cambelt kits available, the difference being i believe just the idler on the BE, if you fit the wrong kit, will be be apparent straight away ?
Also why do the idlers differ from...
Slightly cheaper at £90.64 from carparts4less with discount code SAVEME75
Got mine for £84 a couple of months back, came packaged with ECP stickers so guessing its the same company ? :S
I got the alternator brackets and bolts off a Laguna 8v. Exactly the same part as the Cup set up and was only about a tenner from memory. Brand new alternator something like a 100 and a Cup belt for about a fiver.
Looks a good example, well looked after.
Only slight concern could be the timing with it looking like a independent garage doing most of the servicing etc. :)
Glad you said that mate as i'm running the same set up as you but mines hanging quite low. I thought maybe it was just how the Prima mounts were but yours is 100% spot on.
I found with mine the bolts didn't tighten far enough so promoted more movement than necessary in the gasket which eventually wore it through to blow. Never had a issue since changing the bolts. Still has movement there and retains the springs but not so much that it wears the mesh gasket...
Sunflower ph1 would be my choice.
Ph1's in general might not be limited but ''mk1'' versions of anything always seem to be sought after years down the line plus with ph1's not being particularly limited they are treated more disposable. Something which is rare or limited from the off, folk tend...
Genuine fitting kit but ditch the bolts and fit the meatiest you can find. Mine was forever blowing and wearing out. Fitted bigger bolts and double nuts to lock it and never had a peep out of it in well over 6 or 7 years now.
Iv been running, till recently, Koni / Apex set up for roughly 7 or 8 years without any issues. They do give a firm-ish ride due to being linear rather than progressively wound but they are no where near as harsh as folk make out and more than tolerable.
40mm is the best drop out of all the...
