    These allright for welding?

Spoke to the guy that fitted them for me, he said he didn't weld anything.... they are about 6 months old and bought brand new, so perhaps it's not required :)

    These allright for welding?

Stupid question... I didn't fit mine, if they weren't welded would I likely have issues? Thx

    172 owners

I run a 182 manifold on my 172, only because I figured every little helps... despite the fact that many (much more knowledgeable folk) will say that it provides nothing extra. If anything it makes it easier to change lambda sensors!!

    electronic warning light

Sounds like limp mode... I had this on my Clio previously when I had a knackered throttle body. Is yours a cable throttle?

RS Tuner battery voltage on ECU write?

Hmm, I'd exercise caution but I've not used an RS Tuner before. You got access to another battery from another car whilst you do the write? No doubt your battery is actually fine but if I was about to flash my ECU I'd want to make sure the battery was flawless

Federal 595 RSRs on a daily basis?

Re: My 172 Cup (T5MY G) 191.2 Bhp & 173.4 Torque Just read the entire thread mate, looking great! I'm trying to save weight wherever I can, but still got the dash in at the moment. I've heard horror stories about cutting the loom (Like Ben) so I'm really not going to even bother. Have you...

    IT in 10 Years

You're doing OK I guess... although the vast majority of people are still using a mouse for desktop machines ;-) Linux for one certainly hasn't 'died', it's literally everywhere. Wouldn't say things have been too revolutionary, virt/cloud has opened up a new paradigm of computing but cloud is...

You're a bit too far away from me, otherwise would have been happy to help, especially if my car could have been detailed!

What's the going rate for fitting a cage?

Wow looks great, Ben! Sorry couldn't help much, 250 sounds quite reasonable though!
  24. R

What's the going rate for fitting a cage?

I did mine myself, well, half of it before the wind and rain forced me to give up... the rear section took about 4 hours with drilling, welding, adjustments etc. Still got to do the front section which will probably be another few hours as it will be a right pain! Which cage have you got Ben?

    TCP/IP

Pretty much, if they are only asking for an understanding of TCP/IP, I'd have to assume this just means you understand packet switched networks, IP addressing, subnet masks, ports... that sort of thing. I wouldn't have thought they want anything too advanced such as VLANs, LACP unless they...

    Does this seem okay?

Definitely... expect the panels to look different shades in certain lights. Upclose they will be exactly the same

    Omex Limiter on a 1.4 16v?

I'd listen to advice from others on here when they say... don't bother spending the money on the 1.4, the power you'll get for the money you spend will be terrible. I'd focus on looks/handling if you really want to, but save for a much faster car as standard. Long term, you'll regret the money...

    rdoxenham's 172 Cup Track Project

Thanks Ben, RS4 is no longer with us :( Managed to solve the problem, turned out to be a loose connection underneath the dash, lots of fuses etc, very odd but now works great. I've got to wrap all of the cables as well as they are tucked away but not very well protected, I can see them wearing...
