Well done! glad it's sorted but I would seriously consider taking it to a reputable MOT test centre and asking an examiner to have a look at it, just to be on the safe side.
You don't want your bonnet flying open when your doing 70 down the m-way!
Not saying that to 'scare monger' just think...
Most welcome..
Also re. relays (mind the pun) and I'm sure an auto-electrician would laugh at this explaination.
In laymans terms, they switch a low current input i.e. the supply from a dashboard switch for your fog lights, to a high current output.. i.e. the current needed by the fog...
Fuel filter is a snap on 'in line' plastic jobby.. Very easy to replace on a ph2. Up on a ramp and you'll see it adjacent to the fuel tank. Will cost about £7 for Sport or Non-sport.
Muller part #FB212P
Bosch part #0450902161
But double check before you order!
Keep filling up with V-Power and...
This worked on my Mk2 Ph2 manual tilt only sunroof, so I thought I'd share it for anyone with the same problem.
So, my sunroof was making a lot of noise (rattling) when closed..
I discovered by chance, following a complete strip down (also had a leak) that the 4x T20 torx srews (2 that hold...
Have you filled up at different garage to usual? Sometimes poor fuel quality can cause those symptoms.. Just thinking outside the box... Regards, Steve
Also may be worth replacing the fuel filter before spending to much dosh on new HT leads, coil packs etc.
I'd agree ^
Maybe worth removing your engine oil filler cap to see if there's any 'mayo' on it.. also check to see if there's any coolant contamination. Cheaper than going straight in for a compression test.
When you pull the bonnet release catch, does it pop up into the first position i.e. enough to get your fingers in there? If so, try spraying a shed load of plus gas (wd40) around the release mechanism. Once you get the bonnet open, dry off the excess wd40 and apply grease to the springs &...
Fixed the boot lock button.. The boot lock had jammed closed & the diamond button wouldn't press in..
Here's the link with pic's.. Loose Boot Lock Button
Fixed the boot lock today.. Dropped the rear seats & removed parcel shelf.. Managed the release the boot from inside by pushing up against the black plastic tab (circled in white).. Removed the trim panel & stripped down the boot lock mechanism from outside, working upside down with the boot...
Stripped down the sunroof because the factory seal had perished causing a nasty leak and subsequently a puddle in the passenger footwell. Re-sealed with silicone, put everything back & eliminated that annoying 'rattle' that I've had since I bought the car in August. Well worth the time and effort.
Thank mate, I'll give it a crack on my day off.. Should be fun crawling in the boot, I'm 6' 4" with shoulders like Charles Altas lol.. Might get the missus (pretty little thing) to crawl in there! Give her a torch & lead from behind.. I get the better view, just may take a bit longer ;)
Thanks haimsey, problem solved.. completely stripped down the sunroof assembly & resealed with silicone, just managed to get the glass back in when it started to rain! Perfect timing, job done.. bone dry footwell and nearly dry headlining. Inspected the scuttle drains & they seem to be fine but...
Discovered a puddle of water in the passenger footwell (right hand side, nearest to centre console) ... I'ts been raining quite heavily for the past 48hrs and I know that there's water coming in from the sunroof seal because the headlining is damp on the driver & pass side. Saw this quote from...
Been meaning to get this job done but haven't had time.. And now the boot lock has jammed, the diamond button won't press in & I can't see if there's any way of releasing the boot from inside? Any ideas..
Update on MPG or 'gas mileage' as they say across the pond... 5 litres in the tank at purchase, 89 litres filled since purchase & 36 litres left in tank after 500 miles driven (mostly town) @ 3rd October. So that's 58 litres used over 500 miles.
58 (litres) divided by 4.545 = 12.76 gallons...
Find the paint code for your Clio & call some breakers.. You'd be looking at about £40-£60 tops for a decent colour matched bonnet. Try to get one from a car of the same year because of the effects of oxidation over time. You might still notice a slight difference depending on where the donor...
I'm going to respray my engine cover (see pic).. So I'll need to get replacement decals made up. I want to keep it original and use the correct font / pitch. Not too worried about the 'Renault' lettering because that'll be a TM font but need to know the closest windows font to use for the '1.4L'...
You'd be able to pull most of the dent out with a toilet / sink plunger... The big rounded bowl shape ones they sell in DIY stores... Won't be perfect but it'll cost you about a fiver and hardly notice once you've done it, imho ...
No kidding... Universal plastic fuel cap for £207.50... 5 Sold! Must be full of platinum lol

The slow puncture turned out to be a leaking valve.. New valve, job done! Tyre / wheel rotation because I had mixed speed ratings on front & rear axles, i.e. 1x H rated and 1x T rated on the front axle and the same mix on the rear axle. So, now I have both T rated tyres (Avon ZT5's) at the rear...
I need to tighten up the bolts that secure the boot lock button housing.. Is it fairly easy to remove the plastic trim panel inside the boot to gain access or is it tricky? I don't want to snap any clips etc. Thanks
Just copy & paste this item number into the ebay search bar... 161431363828 http://www.ebay.co.uk/ Not mine, just posted the link for anyone that might be interested. The 'constant winky face' is just an emoticon, not there to indicate that I'm selling them.

Fully restored passenger side front headlamp.. There was a rough cloudy film of oxidation giving the headlamp a yellowish brown appearance. Used 2000 grit wet and dry paper (wet) in circular motions until the surface of the headlamp lense felt smooth to the touch, then rubbed down with turtle...
