Good quality resin badges for Clio 172 Cup models ... The ad may state '1 available' but the seller seems to relist this item after each sale ;)

Okay, slight misunderstanding.. I can find the VIN located on the door pillar & viewed through the windscreen but not sure whether there should also be a VIN stamped in the boot under the carpet? I apologise for being curt with you, Steve
I was reading an article saying that later Clio's (I assume they mean post-2001) have the VIN number in 3 locations: 1). On the offside drivers door pillar in a sticker format. 2). Viewed through the nearside base of the front windscreen. 3). Located in the boot on the right side under the...
Is there a guide on here for handbrake adjustment? If not, can anyone let me know if it's a straight forward diy job or a garage job? Hoping there may be a centre cable adjustment nut before the cable splits off to each wheel.. thanks!
My neice had exactly the same issue with her Clio (Standard Mk2 1.2L 3dr model not a 172 Sport)... Fitted a new battery & problem solved! Maybe a good idea to test your battery with a multimeter before spending the best part of a hundred quid though..
Thanks Nathan.. yeah most auto's are quite thirsty but this one is a little gem.. 36mpg so far (mostly urban) not too bad really. I don't rely on trip computer for mpg, always work it out the old fashioned way, i.e. how many miles driven vs how many litres used then a bit of number crunching...
New anti roll bar link fitted today (n/s/f).. the o/s/f ARB link was replaced fairly recently so I didn't need to do both sides. Also fixed the faulty earth connection on the horn while she was jacked up.
You were spot on 1812lsd.. it was the anti roll bar link that needed replacing, exactly as shown in the video! Job done after lots of hassle compressing the centre rubber section enough to expose the bolt thread for the new lock nut to go on (had to use a jack underneath the anti roll bar)...
All sorted.. 2x ring terminals and 1 metre of insulated wire. Removed horn & placed one ring terminal over the earth bolt and refitted the horn. Pulled the other end of the wire (with ring terminal) up through to the engine bay and secured it to a good clean chassis earth bolt next to the fuse...
Thanks Graham, I'll give it another good clean for now, put some copper slip on the earth bolt as you suggest and take it from there.. If it still plays up, I'll replace the whole unit.
One more pic I forgot to upload.. Also a pic of identical mk2 ph2 1.4 engine bay (borrowed from an older thread)..
New Pioneer 'DEH-1600UB' mp3 CD player now fitted...
Bought the Clio (Mk2 Ph2) just over 3 weeks ago… 1.4 16v (K4J) engine, 4-Speed (DP0) transmission, trim level ‘Expression’…
Work done so far:
Full valet inside & out. Including upholstery, dash & door cards.
New wheel trims with Renault centre cap decals (OE 14“ steel rims).
Pirelli tyres up...
Thanks Graham.. Yep I've got 12v at the horn when I press the steering wheel either side, so I know the supply is ok. The horn works when removed and tested.. I thought it was a bad earth where it bolts to the chassis so I cleaned it up and refitted. Seemed ok but stopped working again? Thought...
Update: Cigarette socket not working due to rusty connection at the bottom. Tested with multimeter and got 13.87 volts to cigarette socket (with engine running), just won't make a good contact with anything plugged into the socket. The horn problem turned out to be a poor earth chassis contact...
Shifts perfect but still good practice to check fluid level for the same reason you'd check engine oil, PAS fluid level etc. Prevention is better than cure, especially when it comes to auto boxes.. big £'s if they go wrong and fluid level / condition are paramount to AT longevity.
