What are standing waves? I don't like the soound of them very much.
I see you're in Lichfield, you are close to one of my fav roads - the A38 up to Burton. Lucky man.

Not sure if this is the right section? Mods.
Has anybody taken out their sound-proofing, carpet like material from the back of the engine bay? I just wonder if it actually has much of a purpose (like the sound-proofing, carpet like material on the underside of the bonnet which I have already...
X reg, 64k and everything inside is just fine - even the pedals are shiney now after applying some metal polish and a bit of rubbing. I reckon the shocks and springs might be having a mid-life moment though.

I thought the torque setting for the wheels was 77 lb/ft. Matey at the tyre place thinks this is too low. Does anyone know if 77 isn't right?

Relatively simple and more like 15 mins. The slam panel or scuttle panel is below the windscreen on the outside. Just open the bonnet, remove the panel and unbolt the filter housing. Pinch the filter on its sides to get it in and make sure you follow the airflow instructions. Easy.

For overall performance you also need to take into account how much the cars weigh, I'd imagine. So the 172 Ph1 and Cup gain a weight advantage over 182s in that area. Bhp/tonne I guess is what matters.

I've heard that criticism of RRs before, is it true? If it is then why bother. Best test I reckon is to go on an airfield or track and compete against lap times set by others (next Cliosport SW airfield meet on 25 Feb). :D

One option might be to clean the brake fluid reservoir top/lid, the one with the connector in it. Clean up the contacts etc and wipe off all the brake fluid. Might have become contaminated. It might cure it.

So 182 ps and a max torque of 158 lb ft. In other words, it's now a standard Clio 182 in terms of ps after those modifications. Not much gain or did I miss something?

Could do, just not sure how tricky it will be to fit.
Thanks for the offer of that trip to Swansea. Last Blue Ph1 I was in neally cost me dearly though.
Thanks. Rob669
After wiggling the wires a bit it might take a few mins for the lights to go out. Mine always does this, it's a right pain, but the lights do go out eventually.

4-5 hours sat in the pub doesn't sound good. I get bladdered after 5 mins! I'd have to catch a bus or something into town I reckon while it gets done. I wonder how easy these things are to fit, mines a 172 Ph1.

Defo Prospeed. Mines hidden like the original, no big exhaust sticking out. And it's a bit louder, but Charlie at Prospeed can make them quiet as you like or loud as you like. Cost will be less I reckon compared to what you've said above. He's in Cardiff BTW.
