I think Eibach Pros are black which are the same as the stock ones on my 172Ph1 and the Sportlines are red. Is that right? I need some black springs with no markings on them to make them insurance 'friendly'.

I was going to go with Admiral until they tried to fleece me on the direct debit monthly payments. Might go instead with Greenlight or just stay with Direct Line - DL's price wasn't bad even with my mods declared.

I think the Green Cotton ones also claim to be good for 100,000 miles. I reckon it's sensible though to clean-up these air filters now and then. I vacuum mine with a brush and might buy a new one before the summer.

I really want to get the inlet done, but because BenR is so good at this he's all booked up for ages :hail: :hail:
So, who else would you trust to do this?

Probably quite a commom problem: what to get next?
I'm just hoping that Peugeot come up with the goods, a decent version of the 207 GTi perhaps (to better their 1.9, 205 GTi). Face it, Reno aren't bothering much these days - the 197 just doesn't interest me at all! Or I could move to a...
I have a Prospeed exhaust and I'm thinking of having their sports cat next. It's been fine, no problems and it felt like an improvement over the OEM one.
Defo recommend it.

Battery is an 063 size and I wouldn't bother with Halfords at 50 quid plus. I paid £25 yesterday with a 3 year warranty and it seems to work fine.

I used Motul gear oil available from Opie Oils in Cornwall ordered over the internet.
To refill the coolant you need to unscrew a bleed valve on the thermostat housing. Getting the bottom hose back on can be a right pain. GSF car parts sell the type D coolant that you should use. You'll need...
One of my door keys seems to be on its way out, can they be opened-up and a new battery stuck in, or is it a case of forking-out dosh to Reno (it's for a 172 BTW)?

Did you pass the new cable through the little white plastic loop on top of the pedal? V diff to see it, it's right at the back of the pedal on top.

I just take the one part off, the section with the two jubilee clips, lever it off with an old blunt screwdriver. It's enough space, just about, to get the top off the airbox and the filter out. Not too tricky really, but makes your back ache a bit!

Yeah, a bit extreme. Trouble is, if you don't and you flush it with plain water you can't get it all out. Your choice though.
Done mine today, blo*dy terrible job - took 2 hours just to get the spring clip back on the bottom hose. No bleed screw either on the radiator (X reg 172) so unscrewed...
Also remember to only use type d coolant (if you didn't, flush it and do it all again!). Renault recommends you also purge the system of water with compresed air being refilling.
