First go 15th June. I've basically bought them to choose depending on weather but I'll be trying both out over the next few months. I'm no racer but will give my opinion based on value and performance as I see it.
I agree as a bit of customer service but they are running a business and it's asking them to do extra work. Perfectly acceptable for them to charge a nominal fee, if you look at it from their point of view. Could at least offer the guy a drink.
No, they will need machining as the holes in the wheels aren't big enough. Spigot rings are used to reduce the hole in the wheels. Yours would need to be made bigger, not smaller i.e. a spigot ring could be used on your car if the wheel's hole was for example,70 to reduce to 60.1.

Haven't tried 1144s for years but having read various posts on here, from respected drivers then I wouldn't touch them for track use. Just about to get another set of DS2500s as I think they are perfect for road and track. Make sure that they are the larger 565H pad.
Tried the Maxxis MA-Z1s on a slightly damp Silverstone last year, at Ford Fair in the summer and it was like an ice rink. However they were fine on the back at a wet Llandow. Great for a long lasting road tyre but I wouldn't put them on track again.
Having looked recently Nick, you're going to have to spend a touch more than £200 by the time they're fitted. Maybe Hankook V12s but they come out at just under £60 each, which is why I just ordered the R1Rs.
They'd be for wet trackdays only though as the Federals are for dry use and they're Tony's choice for wets, so that's plenty good enough for me. I only ever give it about 90% on track so doubt I'd kill them like some might. Very very rarely give it the beans on the road either so worth a punt...
I'm in the same boat Nick, I want some that will do road and wets. Got 595 RSRs for dry track days, I'm toying with Toyo R1Rs all round or maybe experimenting and put two of those at the back for road and two PS3s up front and swap them round for track use. The other option for me would be just...
