Looks ultra tuff, those arches seem to bulge out more with the drop. Shame the 18's will make it even slower though. Guess you cant have it all, but its sexy all the same.
Would never buy this car, not just for the reason it feels like it has a big delay in throttle response. On daily drives my 182 is so easy to live with, just whack it in 5th and you can cruise at 30-40 mph comfortably and get big mpg.
Nuff said I think, why would high performance car manufacturers use them if they were crap, they seem to spend a lot on research. Wouldnt skimp on important thing such as brakes.
BTW had the GSF ones on my old Saxo VTR back in the day and they corrode like hell on the unswept areas.
Think that I will go eibach pro when the time comes, as never done a track day, and will prob only ever do 1 / 2 in the car. I like the sound of them making the car more stable under braking and giving more sure footedness.
Not really bothered about drop as car looks low enough as standard...
These cars have enough power imo for what they are as standard, but could defo do with a more urgent mid range kick. Nice to see 10 lb/ft up on standard, its what I'll be looking for when I start the mods, ie; make the car more drivable in real world conditions.
Coming from a VTR to a 182 made sense to me. 182 has more toys than 197 for no extra money, although it may be worth trying both before you buy.
If your solely after build quality then get the 197, its bang up to date and makes the 182 feel like a dinosaur. Still when I tested the 197...
Yea if it was say 50kg difference minimum then it would be worth it. I have saved 20kg from my full fat by replacing the leather / suede armchairs, for some lighterweight reclining buckets that are miles comfier.
And I still have CC, Xenons etc.
If you have money to burn than its all good. I just got back from Dubai and saw guys about 21 with Lambos, Jacobs diamond encrusted watches and fully iced off chains.
Doesnt make me feel sick or jealous, happy for them as long as they are happy!
^^^ agree with makavelli, sat in the 182 recaros and they are still far to high in comparision to the misanos. I also secured my resistors in place with a bit of electrical tape, but this is not essential.
Better not soldering so if you go back to standard your connectors are'nt buggered...
I ingnored the light for about 5 mths then pulled my finger out, went down to Maplins and spent the best part of 23pence for a pair of 3.9 ohm resistors.
Plumbed em in (30 secs) and bobs ur gran, no serv / airbag light.
Have any of you had a look on www.civictype-r.co.uk there is the same debate going on about the old ep3 civic against the new 07 type r. Ie, heavier weight and not siginficant power increase.
All the ep3 owners are slating it. But i would agree that the 197 feels a lot slower in the real...
I have purchased a Pioneer AVH P5750 DVD head unit, and want to know whether there is any way I can retain use of the standard steering wheel controls.
I have used search and found this thread;
