Was stopped at a round about on the ring road (by The beef eater, emersons) and this Blue 172 came hairing it up behind me..
When i looked in the mirror, it was an 'older' chap with white hair (or was it silver hair ;-)
Anyone?.. or their dad? ;-)
Rich, this is actually a 306 dturbo :-) ,my mate bought a 306 cab the other day & replaced the wheels so i acquired his old ones (like the gti6 wheels), but they are a bit scuffed.
saying that... lol i chanage the proile on my old 309 thinking back, as the 50's were cheaper than 55's! (think i'm might have gone from 185 to 195 aswell though)
can you remove tyres yourself without too much bother??? (i'm guessing not)
i could do with getting them off to refurb them, but then i'm gonna have to pay to get them removed & then pay again for fitting of the new ones..
(more to the point, i got a bad back at the moment, so putting them in...
I have a set of alloys for the mrs's car that need a little refurb & 1 new tyre. (they have 3 new 195/55/15 tyres on at the moment)
However she wants "Those tyres with the v shapes" (her words) So i have found some Goodyear F1's for £35 each but they are 195/50/15
Would it be ok to have 2 55...
does this make much of a mess when sanding the metal? Just wondering as i might have to try polishing up the renaultSport bit on the engine but don't wanna go getting metal particles all over the place.
was that what made to noise when he pulled away then???..
(not up on induction kits.. didn't realise they made 'that' much difference - thought he must have had a different 'stealth' exhaust)
Does he come on this site then?
Spotted an 03 plate blue 172 cup last (saturday) night parked by Miss Millies in staple hill,
It looked to have a laguna front splitter on & sounded pretty loud when the lad pulled away! (couldn't see any exhaust though)
Anyone on here...?
(by the way, the Millies, bun strip meal was...
^^ That looks pretty smart! , i was thinking i'd get a stealth one when i need to replace my original, but now you got me thinking lol
Did they cut the bumper out & all that aswell?
Have you got a pic of the whole back of the car with that exhaust on?
Where are prospeed based then?
(just...
theres the Black Clio i saw in mangotsfield!! C19EST..
Who's is the 172 cup, HT53? i've seen that around too :-)
And LadyS, remember seeing that just after you bought it when i was driving mine into the dealers for some work.
All the motors are looking very nice by the way.
sounds like that strut problem??...(i take it that problem was on the 182s aswell?) mine had similar, get it down to the dealer for a spot of warranty work...
As soon as you mention the banging in reverse they'll more than likely know what it is (although they might not tell you that :-)
If buying from halfords, make sure the denison is actually the icelink, NOT the FM Modulator.
When i was looking into them last year, halfords just had the FM one which isn't the same/as good.
I went for the denison icelink+ and it's been spot on (if a bit expensive)
Mine is standard & it is a thin bit of wood (like stuff) which barely covers the wheel well & thats stuck to the bottom of the boot carpet.
Sounds like yours is the same i.e. totally standard.
i think my 172 cup has been my best..
The list is only small:
Y reg Mk1 Fiesta 950cc!!
C Reg Mk2 Fiesta 1.4s (fake xr2 lol)
E Reg Pug 309 GTI (may not look the best but lovely trouble free fun cars, well mine was)
51 1.2 16v clio dynamique (was nice to have a new car, but bit of a step...
