Yep, mine was run at a CS RR day when Martin had it, along with standard 172s making between 160-170 bhp, so it is pretty convincing but there'll always be people who doubt it.
Forgot to add it also has a 182 manifold.
Mine has been RR'd at 188bhp. Matched inlets, ITG filter, decat and stealth system. I'll await everyone saying it must be down to a generous RR, but I don't really care BHP figures are only useful for pub ammo/ a bit of banter.
Shame they won't fit, they're fooking awesome on my car. Don't lower too much on the back but could sit the arches on the wheels at the front no sweat.
Ah I could well be wrong, was thinking of a particular thread but now reading it again someone said them having no sensor wouldn't be anything to do with it being an import.
V-Maxx are fine for a 1.2, they re-designed the rear shocks to solve the problem of the bush falling out of them. Only thing I didn't like about mine was it didn't go quite low enough on the back for my liking.
You can have just the belts changed for both, but then you run the risk of pulleys going, which can mean new engine time just the same as a belt snapping.
K-tec sell them a bit cheaper than Renault IIRC, also if you pay up you'll see the traders section, NW performance seem to be selling the genuine stuff cheaper aswell.
£500 is quite good for a Renault dealer IMO, I was lucky and managed to get both kits done on my non cup 172 for £550. Oh and don't bother trying to source cheap parts, not worth it on something so important. Make sure you buy genuine Renault stuff. There's also a good chance if they don't use...
Go 60mm or more. Anything less looks standard, my 1.2 had 16s on it with Apex 60mm springs and it never rubbed, 5 people in it, speedbumps, multistories etc never gave me any problems.
EDIT: What car do you have? mk2 or mk3?
Have you ever given the throttle body a clean? If not try that before changing any parts, this happened with my 1.2, gave the TB a good clean out and it never came back.
