Only hard wax I have is Collinites 476s and very happy with that although current pot is nearly gone so might try one of the Dodo Waxes although put off the colourings in them like others are - why, just why?!?!
Rich, why do you have a cup next to your name now?! I would settle for a star...
Looking at my bonnet in the sun yesterday and realised I need to give it a good seeing too, sadly my efforts of cleaning it at the Iraqi express place in Leeds weren't as good as I hoped :( Goodbye clearcoat...
50:50 is good, if you have never used this stuff before you will be impressed.
If all your after is protection, go for Collinites, and leaves a great gloss.
Onyx is a very good all rounder though.
Really wouldn't bother spending a fortune on a "top end" wax as even something like CG 50/50 of Swisswax Onyx look unbelieavably good.
Invest in a random orbital polisher like the MEgs G220, some polishes, pads and decent cloths instead, all the little bits add up. A LOT....
The alcantara you mean? Sounds stupid but just don't get them dirty to begin with! But, failing that, get a microfibre towel, soak in some warm water, wring out and wipe down gently in one direction, then wipe down again with a dry mf towel.
Think some people use a light mxture of water and...
Mint car, those wheels really suit the black.
How much did you pay for them if you don't mind me asking as would be something I might be interested in doing...PM me if you want instead. Cheers! :D
Would definitely choose the Clio from that lot, personally don't like the fussy styling of the Corse at all it is my least favourite looking car there. New Cooper S is a pretty solid all rounder though, better than the R50 original.
Rich did you like the Britemax QD as much as the Sonus stuff? I have loads of Last Touch but like something a bit better for using on my own after waxing...usually usethe Sonus but considering trying the Britemax after some good reviews on it.
They are fine as long as you know what you are doing with them, the ones for home use aren't normally that powerfull, like 90-120 bar pressure, so should be fine.
Ones with hot water helps to break down grime and bonded surface contaminants easier, come on GCSE chemistry here, like why you use...
Surprised it stops spinning Michael, the PC keeps going with a fair amount of pressure on it, as much as I would like almost anyway...maybe even the second unit you have isn't 100%?
As Ali said I think I marginally prefer the CG Blitz...both excellent though. The Blitz just seems to work better with caranuba waxes and brings out metallic fleck a tad more on darker colours, but the Jeffs is slightly wetter and glossier IMO.
You should have come here sooner and sure you could have saved some money...these things don't last that long and mean if you polish or clay the car you will remove them, although they degrade just through washing over time anyway.
PC = Porter Cable random-orbital polisher. New and similar products is the Megs G220 polisher, but some people still call it "PCing" for some reason...like when you are going to vacuum your carpet you say you are Hoovering I guess...
Opinions?

Looks quite cool I think, way better than the Soul or LG SEcret anyway. Nice and thin too.
Anyone know when it is out at all, I am FINALLY due my upgrade in the next month and want to get it I think.
Re: 182 Cup Progress Thread!
Nice car, well played. Should look good with the wheels and side badges done too. Would you ever take the stripes off though? Personally think it looks a lot better, some of the new RenaultSport graphics you can buy look really good on racing blue maybe have a look...
Just in response to your PM, it is about 90 miles taking about 1 hour 45 minutes according to AA Route Map so like I said willing to do it but will have to include travel charges which might not make much financial sense if you can get someone closer to do it mate.
Ha the Twingo will be more manageable Rich, no fear! Although if I do keep the 172 too I won't even have time to w**k, 2 black cars sitting on the drive plus a black golf and my dad's car - plus my sister might get a car if she ever learns to drive - shiser!!!
Just saw your name on Facebook...
Yeah, women = pain and muchos expense, but they do rock when you get a good one!
Maybe if we spent less time on our cars and more on women, as my mum constantly tells me!!!
Rich Treen - bringer of happiness and shiny automotive vehicles, TM. ;)
I gave the girl on my road a christmas card, was going well until I called her once, started "I am going Brighton for new years, but a few mates are doing pills and..." so think she thought I was a druggy after that! Now...
