Yeah sod it - count me in!
Although I will take my name off if it doesn't seem that durable once Rich or Brazo testify how long it lasts for, as don't want to spend £15 on another bottle of something I don't need! Hopefully it is a thumbs up though!
TBH though claying doesn't really add to the look of a car, only creates a flatter surface to work on. If its any shinier then that will be due to the QD you used mainly.
Car looks good anyway though!
Nicee one Rich, I am hoping it is extra durable, thats why I want it (Well, potentially) AG stuff looks good but doesn't last that long, find I have to reapply it after every wash normally.
Ok well I will let you two answer each time asks what is best, EGP or Jeffs then...
Also Tez, define "pro" - even Rich doesn't detail as his profession, but is probably better than some people who do it full time. I have been doing it for about 9 years now - yet no one seems to give a damn...
I think there should be a few more stickies on here as so many questions get repeated. I don't mind doing one or two to kick things off... might be worth doing some product comparrisons too, like Top 10 Waxes/ Sealant/ Polish etc and have a summary for each or something?
There must be like a...
Cool cheers Rich. Might have to invest in some of the Swissvax cleaner then...yet ANOTHER product :( If only I wasn't a student right now, thats like my food for the week lol...Actually, I need that money to live.
Wait, one more question: I normally use sealant on my car ,especially now when I...
Rich - have you tried Sonus Paint Cleaner before, works a charm and for Ali, smells of citrusy goodness!
But do these cleaners have any abrassive particles in them, e.g. do they polish at all? I find SRP or the Sonus are equally good for surface preparation, but obviously one is labelled a...
Tez, not used the Dodo but I can definitel vouch for the Onyx, as Rich said it is noticably better than the 50/50 which I rated so highly.
I waxed mine about 7 weeks ago now and even with dirty rain on it it still gleams like a MF...
Sorry I forgot to add... in general, named "designer" brands do offer a better product, but they normally cost more too. Basically, you generally get what you pay for.
But yeah give it a try - sure it won't be "rubbish" Ali... ;)
David, how durable is this stuff though - be honest.
Had enough of official product websites, as apparently every single product is "the best there is" which clearly can't be true for more than one thing in each category!
At that money I would hope it is significantly better than other...
Agreed...a lot of people have opinions based on absolutely nothing more than a gut reaction to something.
Head over to Gaming Chat for the ever lively PS3 vs xbox 360 debate....
I think people, not just in CS but in general, are defensive of the things they own. They have spent their money on...
I hate doing insides but it has a nice exterior makes a dirty interior look even worse. Some people only care what other people see though I guess...which suits me fine!
I think £15-20 an hour is pretty steep really, lets be honest, detailing is not rocket science. Yes you are paying for materials but they don't cost that much even working on a small scale, I have found if you are doing it as a oart time sort of thing and without a decent reputation (well...
You would be surprised how long you can spend on a car...I spent 3 or 4 days on my car on the last thorough detail even though it was pretty much immaculate before then. My trouble is I like to try different products together and building layers of products, and getting as much gloss and clarity...
Just oay the fiver and then save me some money lol!!
I will probably go for some, the AG just doesn't last long enough in my opinion - and hopefully should be suitable for wheel arches too.
I'm after a more durable product for exterior plastic and vinyl, AG Bumper... doesn't last all that long. The Aerospace 303 stuff seems to be pretty good though.
Could be ok, heard a few people talking about this stuff. What I would ideally like is a 100% non-streaking product too, even with...
On 12 month contracts they have upgraded me after 9 months before so on 18 maybe after 15 months, maybe slightly earlier if you call them and kick up a fuss.
What phone are you after then? I am due fairly soon, like the new Sony Ericsson phone really.
There are millions of threads on best shampoos, best sealants, best tyre gels etc etc on here so might be best to check those first, all depends on your budget, requirements (durability, what level you want to work to, ease of use etc) and personal preferences as some products are fairly similar...
Their QD (can't remember the name) is a great over the counter product.
As for them being "rubbish" I think thats more than a little unfair, they produce a perfectly decent result with little effort which for most people is ideal.
Obviously you can get better and for the same money, but Megs...
Yes you are right, this has been asked LOADS of times before.
Scratch X will remove fine scratches and swirls but its designed to use on localised areas, it will take you hours to do the whole car properly and your arm may well melt.
Best advice is either to buy a PC or UDM or pay someone to...
