My mate had a side on with a 5 series on a duel carriageway.....Clio flipped over twice and my mate and his friend walked away unhurt.......only long term damage was the friend turned into a gay!!!
Stick to useing Shell Optimax 98Ron.......in 2 and a half years Ive only filled up once with 95RON and the car felt a lot slower!
Never use supermarket petrol they dont have any protective additives in them and in a high power car that spells big bills in the future!!
With the anti-freeze all I do is fill about say half the bottle with water (the cars) then use that stuff from halfords think its in a greeny-blue container as per instructions and then top off with more water until full easy.
The smell from the air vents could be a bacterial build up through...
I had that service light come on a while back and it was the passenger seat runner that had split the passenger air bag wire just needs a bit of soldering work....... apparently a common problem

When youve had a good blast in it and think.... MMMMM this is quick wait till you hit 33000 miles then it realy comes alive. Mines curently torque steering in fourth and im running F1s!!!
This car just gets better and better with age!
One casual mistake dosent instantly turn them into a s**** company.
Companys that con people, do shoddy work etc generally dont last 26years especially in the car industry!
Spot on jimbo
Its taken these other so called Renault tuning companys a long time to come up with a reliable 200bhp. Four years on and Im still waiting.
Like Ive said on another page, you dont have a Renault main dealer selling your product for nothing!!!!
And as for the performance...
Sorry to say it but Hill powers conversion (PGTIJan/Feb 03 didnt exactly set the world alight with induction kit, stage 1 chip powerflow exhaust mailto:145bhp@6682rpm">145bhp@6682rpm vs standard mk1 with magnex mailto:151bhp@6788rpm">151bhp@6788rpm.... spose every cars different though.

Would have thought if your buying a brand new cup (from a dealer)for the claimed price of £14945 with the full LAD kit on the whole job lot should be covered under warranty..... in any case wouldnt head work etc on any new car invalidate the standard cars warranty?
Cheers for that reply 172loony
Still cant believe how a main Reno dealer would take it on if it was that problematic........could have been a one off.....always thought it was the over exagerated performance figures that let LAD down not the workmanship or parts.
While I cant comment on whether or not the LAD conversion is acctualy running 200bhp all I will say is for a Renault dealer to sell its product gives me a bit more piece of mind that its going to be 100% reliable.
As for _KDF comment on it making a slower 0-60 time than standard 172 if you...
I think some of you guys are being a little hard on the LAD conversion. First up they have been in business for 20+ odd years so they must be doing something right..... The conversion is good enough for a franchised Renault dealer to sell bolted to there brand new cups....says a lot ... As for...

Cant see them shifting many units then. Second hand mark1 172s are selling for about eight grand now. To spend the total amount again on what the cars worth seems barmy.
Think ill stick with head work cams chips ect
Mine definitely needs a carbon bonnet the standard ones chipped to buggery and Ive had it sprayed twice in the last 2 and a half years!
Will it need to be lacquered?
Any chance of carbon fibre centre console?
Dont get too excited.....bolt on turbos on renaults in the past tend to have had reliability problems. Plus your talking £3000+ for the conversion. To get the power down your gonna need a LSD £1500ish decent brakes £1000 so your talking the best part of six grand. For that you could you get...
