My friend has an Evo6 pushing 310bhp on a T plate (running optmix). With him two up and me with my stripped (and I mean bare! - one seat, no door cards etc....) mk2 with a realistic 185bhp+ no cat and optimax + octane booster, until 3rd gear there was very very little in it! he couldnt pull...
There should be no need!, youre covered 3rd party on any vehicle. Id check this though as most insurance companies have changes their rules recently. I have had 3 cars (172 mk2, Cup & 206 GTI) all under the same policy for negligable extra expense... I argued that one person can only ever...
Ive just tried to reply to your post and I got the mesage that your inbox is at its limits... Im not sure if my message has been cached for when youve deleted some of your messages???? If not, msg me again and Ill reply :-)
JP is a VERY respected player in this arena, Ive read the post (and assuming it is from him as previously mentioned) I couldnt agree more... theres no need for excessive noise and we should be grateful that there are people like JP that dedicate their time, money and skill in letting us do what...

In principle they are identical to the OEM part except theyre made from a less elastic material (a compound that gives less). The end result is much tighter and more positive steering turn-in and feedback through the steering wheel. It has been suggested that the anti-roll...
The development dude simply put my car on a 4 poster, lifted it up and took a brief look... got out a crow bar and attempted to cause the bushes to flex (Id rather not have seen this!), made a few grunting sounds, took a couple of digital pics and told me they were very similar if not the same...
Mmm thats interesting, I understood the improved throttle response is due to the different cat. thats used (Having said that, that also means the map will be slightly different) any other thoughts/ideas??? Im keen to get to the bottom of this!
Remember the Cup doesnt have side airbags...... that simplifies things a little and I would hazard a guess that insurance companies will suck you up if you tell them youre removing safety features....
Ive checked with the dealer I bought the cup from and the story I got was....
"Renault got a bit ahead of themselves and arent yet ready to offer these options and it may be they never do"
I then contacted the "technical" pundits of the Cup race series who were very interested in my...
That would worry me..... and you trust them to service it???!!!
BTW, I dropped my Mk2 172 35F/40R using AVO Chassis Dynamic springs, the work was first done by GT Tuning (NEVER EVER TRUST THAT THEIVING TW*T) a couple of months later (when the shocks died) I sourced a set of Koni adj. and gave...

I went to powerflex (Just over the road from london superchips) and had the 172 Mk2 measured up for uprated bushes several months ago. I called them back 3/4 weeks ago only to be told they didnt have a plan on a production run in the near future! Their explanation was a lack of demand... :-(...
Imagine how I felt when I said bye bye to my ACS S3 in return for a girlfriend (which ultimately cost more!), a house and a bloody 206 GTI for the girlfriend! (I sooooo resent the 206, its not just a number..... its a sentence!)
If it werent for Renault and the 172 Id be a broken man ;-) Ive...
Some cars such as the Evo 6 and STI IV even have sensors which detect the composition of the fuel and de-tune (or adjust maps) to cope..... Subaru claim a 15bhp loss is you dont use 98ron (As with the 172s the ECUs primary map is based on using 98ron+)
My experience of fuels (from all round...

OK, Ive done some digging........
The shocks are different again but the ECU is still a Siemens Sirius 32. Ill report back on the exhaust when I next come across a ramp!
If youve got a couple of camels, why not! ;-)
As it happens, Im parting with the Mk2 this Wednesday... I run (or as the girfriends would say, "we") a new Pug 206 Gti, thank god I never have to drive it...... "Are we going backwards darling????"
Hi James,
If you bought your car from a UK dealer youll have to approach them and perhaps ask them to fit the induction kit for you. I know it sucks, but then again there can be no argument as to the workmanship of the installer. The law says they do have every right to invalidate your...

Having had a Mk2 from its release Ive been through all the trauma of modifying a 172 exhaust to fit (all the mounting points are different!)
Does anyone or can anyone answer these :
Are the cups exhaust mounts in the same place as the Mk2? (This could assist 172 owners in improving throttle...
