Not too much to update here. I've swapped out the 20mm front spacers for 16mm eibach items. Makes the front track match the rear a bit better rather than having the wheels pushed out so much. Also it feels slightly lighter and nimble, could be in my head though.
I've also received a powerflex...
On renewal last year mine went from 300ish to 1400! on a standard car. Got a modified policy through Brentacre for around 450, though I had to modify it to keep the policy open.....
looking good. my cheapo rubber splitter is still on and hasn't budged (touches wood)
@Danith I had no rubbing issues with the cooksports on stock cup shocks (well until I fitted spacers..... Plus i run 225 wide tyres)
Depends on the size of your turbo. But 7 to 10psi is considered safe (when mapped to suit) on a 172 engine with a t25.
Most engines are old worn and knackered, something will break.
could well be a bit of contamination on that friction plate, or just a little worn out with age. does it do it more/worse on cold days, when the car may be a little more fruity/powerful?
I can check the thickness of my clutch plates using Renolink, could possibly do similar on yours to confirm...
To be fair, I think the stock clutch will be fine for most people. The price of this fitted (at the moment ) is cheaper than a new unit supplied and fitted, essentially its refurbing and relining the old one. (I've done this many times in the past, just never on a DCT)
We will see though, for...
So it looks like my clutch pack is starting to let go. I'm told there is a common issue where the rear main seal mists a bit of oil onto the rear friction plate. This shows itself initially with the car reducing boost/power when it sense slip in 5th gear. So I pile through the gears and it gets...
Ive also manged to fit some Pure Motorsport bits over the Christmas break. 10mm stub axle spacers and some 20mm front spacers also from pure. Fills the arches out nicely, will give it a bash over the next few weeks and see if there is any rubbing.
I spent a little time today working on closing off some of the gaps around the rad pack, intercooler and creating a duct to feed cold air up to the air filter. Haven't finished up yet as rain has halted play but there should be an improvement. I've also modified the fog light housing so I can...
Id be trying to see where the "fluid" has come from. The edc cars are prone to playing funny buggers with the gearbox and other electrics if the battery is on its way out too, though the fluid sounds bad.
what temperatures are you actually seeing? temp does regulate and fluctuate. id say anything between 80-95 are normal. From what i remember the thermostat is an 82 degree item, water systems dont hold solid temp they change and react to everything going on.

The exhaust had started to sound a little louder recently, that and it stank of fumes when pulling up at junctions. I originally thought it was the turbo oil drain gasket dripping oil and then burning off, but found the downpipe to front pipe was blowing when replacing that. Got underneath the...
I think ive had a bit of a weep from the oil return pipe on the turbo. I can see some staining on the manifold. That and the car stinks when pulling up at junctions. I've had it on and off a few times and not replaced the gasket so decided to get it swapped out. Autodoc provided the smallest...
