So if any of you are wanting a discount on Forge Motorsport products I've got you covered
Use the code "ADEYSPEC10" It gets 10% off Forge products excluding any brake components, product fitting, and remaps (y)
all the answers are there if you look, it depends on how you want to go about fitting it all tbh.
Engine mounts, no in a nut shell. You need the 172 cam cover modified to fit and the upper mount on the f4rt engine. Then if you use the 5 speed box mounted on it you can use the 5 speed gearbox...
Indeed, I popped a f4rt (304bhp in the end) in a 1.2gt twingo. If you search my threads you should find the build one. I tried to cover as much as possible in there, i modified the engine to accept a 5 speed also (y)
Pump housing was whipped out this afternoon. It does require a little angle grinder action to make space (I need to revisit this to tidy up and make/buy a new inspection hatch) removed, stripped it down, and then rebuilt with the sytec fuel pump. I'll do my "check over" of the car tomorrow and...
So..... Slight over sight on my part. Its been advised I will need a fuel pump. Race on, sytec ordered and hopefully it'll get here with enough time for me to fit it before mapping Wednesday.....
Last peice of the puzzle knocked up by a mate today. 3 inch turbo intake pipe that has the factory recirc, crankcase and boost control solenoid take offs added. Need to give the car a once over this weekend and replace an exhaust clamp but it looks like we are now ready for mapping 👍🏼
I had a few reduced power moments when I first got the car but after cleaning out the boost solenoid ive not noticed it again (the car was limiting boost pressure to 6/7psi) Id hope to have noticed a clutch issue by now?
or is it something that was only highlighted when mapping?
I guess I'll cross that bridge if it comes to it? Can't tell what they will do till we try turning the wick up?
30bhp gain with a few bolt ons isn't to be sniffed at though?
All good on day one of daily driving. Racked up about 60 miles so far (y)
Im dropping off some bits tomorrow to have my intake made up and Mapping has been booked for next Weds (11th) at EFI parts. Will be interesting to see how it performs on the dyno or see what issues we come up against...
Listen to how chav tactics this now sounds! Only light throttle till I get It mapped though. RS mode gives it some mad bangs! In normal driving/auto mode it's quite pleasant. Can't wait to hear it with some revs and boost!
Day 2,
The plan was to finish the upgrades and wrap everything up, and bar the custom intake I want to make I think we are there. I do need a replacement exhaust clamp though.
On with the Forge Motorsport FMIC kit. pretty decent kit, fits up nicely. I didn't fully follow the fitting guide...
So I've been stockpiling parts for a while and this week I picked up a fmic kit. So I decided to book Friday (today) off work to make a start on all the upgrades.
I've tried to keep the camera rolling during it so ill knock up an update video soon. All has gone well so far, and its been fun...
from what I can find the early euro 5 200 and 220 had different turbos and intakes but the euro 6 200 and 220 were the same. (euro 5 to 6 switch was mid 2015)
I used a Millers oil from opie oils, funny stuff, looked like vegetable oil and didn't have the usual strong gearbox oil stink. Thanks its getting there, not so great in the flesh, pictures make it look better than it is :D
Cracked on with a little more service/preventative maintenance. Treated the subframe to a little bit of bilt hamber dynax to hopefully hold back any corrosion. The front looks to be removable like the mk3 and Twingo so will no doubt rot out at some point.
The car ticked over 95k this week...
I was planning on starting the turbo swap this weekend but an incorrect delivery of the wrong downpipe and flex pipe means I don't have what I need to make it happen. Annoying but should hopefully be sorted next week.
Instead I fitted it up the @Danith Mod.. a super cheap rubber splitter off...
I had already purchased a GT performance front downpipe/decat, but I have decided to go one further, all in I guess. Its a 2.5inch decat pipe that tapers to fit the stock exhaust system but I feared it wouldn't be enough or I would find it to still be restrictive when mapping on the big turbo...
