What colour car ? What kind of condition is the paintwork in ?
Main amount of shine comes from the polishing stage, and for that you really need a machine polish, as by hand you wont get the same levels as gloss.
Gets some R222/P21s over the EGP on Blue - may be not that durable but looks awesome
Save your money and get some Vics Concours, better looking results for a lot less cash
Depending on the condition of the paint 2 hits of SRP can clean it up better. On good shape paint one is all that is...
Hi x
Nice work, IP by PC finishes down nicely, the FF may have given a touch more gloss but it doe not look flat by any means, when I am pushed for time I go straight from IP to Sealant.
Get some Werksatt Acyrlic to go between the Carlack and Collinite and you will have almost the ultimate...
I find I get better results saving it as a postscript file and distilling it, seems to rasterize the effects better and make smaller files sizes. Though to be honest some of those photoshop style effects seem to just cause hassle at times.
LOL @ paint it - works well at covering the rusty bits ;)
Not good - I remember watching the MOT test smack the door on my old one into the gas analyzer ....
I always use Meguairs #7 but that is mail order only, you maybe able to pick some bodyshop safe 3M hand glaze up if you have an bodyshop suppliers local.
Unless you have a decent cleaner free Carnauba wax I would not bother topping it the EGP, none of the products you list above will add anything much after the EGP.
AG Glass Polish.
Or Just reapply the rain X properly, the proper application will remove the previous hazes one.
If you are having problems after application where it looks a bit hazy after a spritz of water straight away and a good buff with a MF cloth also sorts it.
Be fine to polish straight away - will be likely to have been flatted and polished in the bodyshop anyway. Needs to be a pure polish not something like AG Super Resin which contains a sealant.
You need to ask the painter how long before you can wax or seal it - i.e the EGP, may be fine straight...
SRP works fine with a Polishing or Finishing pad by machine. Better than it does by hand IMO.
The EGP get it on nice and then with a foam hand pad.
I am undecided on the HD wax, wacked a coat on the GTi yesterday, leaves a nice finish, easy enough off, but there are much easier waxes to apply...
The main purpose of the Blue painters type tape is it does not leave any residue behind when removed, sticks no better than any other normal stuff. Clean the trim first with some APC.
Tar remover is designed to remove tar, won't remove etched in brake dust like an acidic product will.
Clay works on bonded stuck on brake dust, but again falls down on etched in marks, as it shears off above the surface contamination.
Biggest difference I could notice seemed to be down to the tyres, 182 on 205's felt over tyred compared to the 172 on 195's. Cup pack suspension on the 182 did feel a bit more composed than the normal 172.
