I use a mixture of products, the ones I find best suited to the task.
I would probably look into a true abrasive free paint cleaner rather than polish with SRP every week if it floated my boat though!
Wash, QD and maybe a coat of wax if I really feel energetic for me. Not polished mine since last April !
SRP is so easy to use you wont be tired from doing a whole car, just don't expect it to work miracles on any swirl marks, apply with a foam hand pad to a panel at a time, work it well so you don't get dusting.

Mine was under the passenger seat in the tray when I collected the car from the dealers in a clear box with the original wheel bolts removed when the lockers where fitted.
On a dark colour like that I would look into Victoria Concours Wax, reasonably priced (17 quid ish for the smaller tub) and gives results much better than anything else in it's price range and lots of others which cost lot's more. Better than any of the Dodo offerings and comes close to some of...

I just used Wonder Wheels and re-polish after if I need to as the times I need an aggressive wheel cleaner are very rare, Bilberry gets some good reviews though.
Using something like a brillo pad is never a good plan, wheels are painted in the same way as your bodywork, you would not rub a brillo pad on that surely !
Wonder wheels and clay should have sorted it.
