Unless you really want to build one yourself, and it's something I like doing so I totally get why you would, for the convenience and warranty cover I'd probably go prebuilt for how much little extra it usually costs.
But if you want something custom or tailored exactly to your needs, self...
You arse ;)
That's quite tame though, standing joke at one place I worked was "tell the newbie to open a shell, cd /, rm -r *". It's all fun and games until someone actually starts typing it and you have to charge across the office going "NoNoNoNoNo" :ROFLMAO:
Can’t get it recovered, it needs details like who has recently been emailed from the account.
It would have to be a court request, which isn’t going to happen unfortunately, there is no money to do it.
Yep, done that and have access to the filesystem, but it would be a godsend to be able to...
I’m trying to help an elderly neighbour who’s husband recently passed away.
He looked after all the money and left no details of his logins, bank accounts etc. I’ve used the usual tricks to get administrator access to the box and get files off there, but it would be so much better to log in as...
I’m enjoying it, but I don’t think it’s a great game.
The combat mechanics are a bit clunky, the maps are slow and repetitive, and if you want to get the most perks you have to stop the flow through every mission to search for “evidence” items and side quests. It just feels very padded out.
I...
Damn. I accidentally wondered into the John Lewis outlet store today, and was immediately set upon by a gang of vicious air fryers who demanded I buy a 42” LG OLED which was on offer, or they would fry sensitive bits of my anatomy (using minimal oil and sealing in the juicy goodness, for a...
The Eero pro have two Ethernet sockets on them, so that would work. You’d need an Ethernet switch too but they’re dirt cheap.

Random thread resurrection, the Eero pro is half price at the moment (although knowing Amazon it probably always is 😂) so I picked up a two pack.
Really impressed so far, setup was super simple and my speeds are now consistent across the whole house.
Haven’t gone for any of the subscription...
Good point, a sensible sized TV it is then.
I don’t think I’m ever going to be a proper sim driving fan, it takes too much concentration and effort. Immersive fun is where I’m at, not looking for anything more than that.
Definitely want a better wheel and pedals, the Logitech is a quantum leap...
XBox arrived today, just had my first F1 2023 session on it. I'm really pleased, I think I've gone the right way for me even though the library is a bit limited. Between F1 '23 and Forza Motorsport I've got plenty to try, and there's always the GRID series too.
It's nice to have my PC hooked...
I'd like GT, but honestly I suspect something like one of the Forza games would be just fine.
Hmmm they're doing 0% finance on them at the moment and are including game pass ultimate. £32 a month for 24 months for an XBox series X and game pass ultimate. Not the greatest deal, but doesn't seem...
Does anyone use a console for sim racing? I’d like to get my PC back into my office for playing FPS and other games, and a PS5 or Xbox X seems like the most cost effective replacement given the insane cost of graphics cards at the moment.
Console lock-in is bloody annoying but I mainly play F1...
I used to subscribe but it got very repetitive and he seemed to stop doing work on stuff, plus needlessly shoehorning his other half into the videos when she knows nothing and adds nothing irritates me. Nothing against her, she seems perfectly nice but for some reason just doesn’t work in the...
This is my stash of retro tat, it all works but TBH it’s just for display, things which make me smile and bring back good memories. That’s what it’s all about 👍
Yep, another A500 Batman pack owner here. The Amiga was so ahead of it’s time, it’s a shame it suffered the same fate as everything which wasn’t a PC. Turns out an open (ish), expandable, upgradable platform crushes other computers in the end.
It could do this, in 1987, at a very early stage in it's life. If only it had got proper traction I've no doubt we'd have seen some truly incredible stuff from it. First RISC based home computer IIRC, and if you trace back the lineage of most ARM processors which drive mobile phones you end up...
The disc controllers were always a bit pap, but the keypad let it do some fairly clever things for a console of the era - multi direction shooting in games like AD&D for example.
It was primitive and there were plenty of cack games, but some are still enjoyable to play today. I’d happily while...
Sharing this here because a lot of people seemed to like it when I posted it as a picture from a track day I did.
Friend of mine is selling his MX-5. He’s following his usual pattern of spunking an absurd amount of money on a car, then deciding he wants something else and selling it. I say...
Yeah, as a buyer the fees just get taken automatically off your registered card at the end of the successful bidding.
On the one hand it means they always get their cut, on the other it means a shonky bidder can't just walk away without taking some sort of hit (unless they're using a stolen...
I have a few bits and pieces I've collected, but honestly most of the old games are total shite and only worth playing for a bit of nostalgia. There are a very few that I still enjoy but in general fond memories are best kept that way.
I went through the phase of collecting anything that used...
