I think they where referring to hub bit in the middle which was still shiny silver new looking ! The back brakes on the 106 seem to actually do some work which I found odd, under heavy braking you can feel them working. Even a mate commented on it when he drove it.

Ring and shake it really well and hang on the line to dry.

Don't worry about the for darker colours b****cks - any wax is fine on any colour. Out of what you have Megs #16 gets my vote.

No Concours just want to make it tidy, the days of cleaning cars for men in white gloves are over for me, once the suspension is done I want to get some track days in. He is local lad is very very tidy, not sure on the silver painted floor pan though.
