HELLO!
Right been finishing the looms off ready to transport over to Dan for him to fit the engine
Dash loom all taped up
Tail end loom
Car mostly built up and ready to go on the trailer
Needing an engine
Battery through panel to safely get the battery feed safely into the engine bay...
Hi there, sorry for the lack of correspondence about the loom, but I've been working everyday till late into the night to get this done, so haven't had time to get to the laptop to update. But after a day down the workshop today I decided it was a good time to post an update on your thread.
The...
Right this is the final update from us over at BeanieSport
With everything in and working well, it was time to just heat shrink everything properly, make a fusebox bracket and just finish everything off
These are the final pictures
Very happy with how the loom has come out, it...
Looking forward to seeing your car too Zmaster!
Back with another update!!
Today was finally the day that I could power up the Clio and test all the work that I had done.
I had finished wiring in the fuse and relay box, just needs a mounting bracket making for it now.
So it was then time to...
Back again with another small update as the loom is starting to take shape a little more.
First thing we did was to make a bracket and mount the ecu
Next up made a hole for the battery through panel and the neptune bulkhead plug
Really starting to look good
Hi there,
I am currently putting a Clio 172 onto standalone management but its running standard inlet, so the car is running a standard Renault throttle position sensor.
I was wondering if anyone knew the pin outs for the throttle position sensor?
There should be a 5v, a signal and an earth but...
Cheers for all the replies lads :)
The lack of updates doesn't mean that I haven't been working on the looms, but it became rapidly apparent that daily updates weren't going to show much as progress has been visibly slow, with lots of work going into very little change.
Anyway decided today I'd...
Hello there, its Moo @ BeanieSport here.
I've had a word with Rhys this morning and he is happy for me to take over the thread, to keep himself and you lot posted on what is going on with his car.
Dan from 519 Automotive and Rhys arrived at the BeanieSport workshop with the Clio on a trailer...
Hehe, I did get passed by a fully stickered up and serious looking race DC5 Integra just before lunch and I wasn't catching that again. But other than that I think I stayed ahead of everything else.
Mic wise I only borrowed the camera so it came with whatever it came with. I was impressed with...
Haven't posted on here for a while now,
Since trackday season has come around again along with a small bit of sunshine and Moo's birthday, we decided it was the perfect time to arrange a trackday.
Advertised on Facebook we saw an Opentrack trackday cheap at Cadwell Park
So, with a quick check...
Right I've had a look at the car again today.
I have tested all 4 wires shown on autodata that go from the ABS unit to the cluster and they are all ok
I have checked the actual values once again and, there is no vehicle speed listed in ABS as a value you can read.
This time I appear to have a...
As I said the ABS sensors are reading so they aren't the problem.
Also I have checked and the ABS is working fine.
As the car is an ABS/ESP model it doesn't have the speedo drive in the gearbox
Hi there,
I have a Clio 182 at the moment with a speedo not working and I'm struggling to find the information I need.
The car is a 54 plate with ESP
There are no warning lights on and all other dials are working fine
I have checked the values of the wheel speed sensors and they are all reading...
I'm calling them a reputable gearbox company as so far that's what they've been and I'm not keen to change that until I'm certain of what's happened here.
When I asked about the possibility of the plastic shield being missing they said they can't specificly remember my box but they certainly...
The gearbox breather is the one it had before the rebuild. It didn't go with the box to the company. I've taken one of these boxes apart before and the only thing I can think of is the plastic shield thing above the gearset could be missing? The company say this wouldn't cause the problem though...
Hi there fella's. Thought I'd pop on here to see if any of you could shed some light on a rather odd fault that's getting me a little bitter and twisted.
Ive recently gone for a bit of a spend up on the clio to make it ready for this seasons track days. Part of this was getting the gearbox...
Cheers for taling the time dude!! Always apreciate people taking the time to read about the old car. Last couple of times the cars been on the rollers its been between 219-222bhp which in a cra weighing 780kg makes it pretty frisky to drive lol.
It should be at Fcs this year for ayone that...
Cheers for all the replies!
Yeah, even with everything that happened to my brother that Donnington trackday was a brilliant laugh!
The cage that we fitted in the 106 was a t45 custom cages item!
Yeah we will try to keep the thread up-to-date now, not sure why it got neglected really, probably...
LOL! Its been thought about on occasions, putting an F7R in it, but we've ended up going in a different direction, keeping the Clio as a track car!
With the 106's 'situation' at Donnington we decided to go big or go home lol
Trying to build a car that will stay with the Clio performance wise but...
WELL!!!!! It's been a bloody long time since i updated this but I think it's about time I filled in some of the gaps and adventures the car has had in the last couple of years.
Sorry if things are a bit breif and probably in the wrong order etc, but its been a long very eventful time lol...
Wow cheers gazza! I do love to see pics of other peoples gt's to spur me on!
Well I got the call on Thursday but was too busy to collect the shell until today. I was ever so glad it decided to rain on me lol
Back at the garage and time to assess
In all fairness it's in really good nick...
The process is acid dipping but stage one of it is the shell being baked until all the paints fillers and sealers burn off (sounds scary but we shall see). After that the shell wil be dipped in acid which will clean all the corrosion and burned paint off the shell leaving just metal... and...
