Well this is far from the most interesting update but I thought i'd stick it on anyway as it was a pretty key stage. Anyhow, Tuesday night Myself and a workmate nipped to the garage and dragged the shell into work with his car. This meant I was able to get the grinder on the door hinge the nuts...
The Saxo was getting on moos nerves quite a lot as it still needed a lot of work to be a finished car so when a fella offered fair price for it as a going concern he sold up. When matey got the car he decided he prefered his shell and styling so stripped the engine bay and conversion work...
Wow praise from Ceaser indeed!! I've not been posting on a great dealof threads since my laptop died but I do still read a lot and i'm fully aware of your car and love it!!
Woooooooo! Cheers for all the great posts I'm really feeling the love! lol
Well today we've been back down the garage...
We have said that we DO plan to do a full nut and bolt restoration back to EXACTLY how it would have left the factory.
Finding out all the info we need is going to be tough as BMC made no records of what cars they were producing during the time our Clubman was produced
Richardo, you sound like a man who knows what he's looking at. It was the fact it was a mk1 Gt that drew me to it so much. Such an unusual car these days to the point that finding info and examples of how it should look will possibly be as bigger part as the mechanical work.
The car has a thick...
Well some of you may still remember us from our White Mk1 Clio build on here which has been thrashing about quite a lot and generally getting thrown out of circuits for being waaaaaay too noisy! Lol. It still needs a little bit of tinkering with but I suspect it always will..
Also under our...
Yeah we live down Christian Court in Willen, we did think maybe supercharged, but turbo was shorter for the title lol!
Saw you coming out of Bental Close onto Portland Drive
My brother and I were walking through Willen in Milton Kenyes when we saw a Liquid Yellow Clio 197 with 4 people in it.
As it pulled away it sounded turbo charged, I was wondering if the owner was on here
Hehe that was indeed me, got blackflagged twice before lunch so spent the rest of the day shifting at around 6500rpm and not using full throttle which was a bit of a downer but at least I got to stay.
Wow! A picture of my 106 too, but non of my brothers noisey mk1 16v
Had a brilliant day, meeting, chatting to and chasing some interesting people,
Must do this again some time
A very interesting video yo should enjoy from the day

You were scarily 100% spot on!
That was the first fcs this car made it to lol
Should probably update this thread at some point as the car is now complete and out and about
Yeah, all BEANS hard work! Like his White Clio! ALL Bean : (
Also you didn't just change the driveshaft, you stole the one off MY sales Clio 172!
Huff, I get no regard, no regard at all!!!!!!!!
p.s. You lot are doing really well, I think you're in here!
Moo
Here for you all is a little pic of Mels clio. Since my clio dropped a valve I needed a car to use for a brands trackday and since I had a sales 172 laying about I took that. Mel came along as my passenger and loved the car so much she bought it
Just looking to find out what people know is out there that I don't already really. Basically my little mk1 track clio is fitted with a 220bhp throttlebodied f4r as many of you know and a clio 172 cup gearbox with a gripper LSD. The problem I've recently noticed is 5th gear in my gearbox is too...
Saw a standard black ph2 172 and
Silver ph1 172 on big gunmetal 5 spokes on track at Bedford yesterday.
Was wondering if you were on here.
My brother and I were in a White mk1 Clio and a gold Saxo vts
Cheers mate, have alwaysed loved Saxo VTS' and I think people forget what a good looking capiable little car they are after seeing SO many bad examples lol
Yeah couldn't have had more fun even including a breif oversteer related trip into the barrier at Barn which luckily didn't cause any...
Aah! Brilliant!
Cheers for the picture!
No idea who's Clio that is, I'm not too good with the Clio's, they're more my brothers area lol
Did everyone else have a good day? I heard there was a red flag at the end of the day? Was it serious?
Aah!
Brilliant! Thought you probably all be on here, was going to pop over and say hi but I'm shy! I will next time I see you lot!
Had a brilliant day!
My first time at cadwell and only my second trackday!
If it would be possible could I have a copy of any pictures of me on track please?
I'd...
Spotted a few of you guys there last night.
One trophie followed my on the sighting lap and spent some time chasing a trophie.
Was wondering if you were on here?
I was in the Gold Saxo VTS
Moo
That's along the lines I'm thinking, although the clutch has only been in there around 3000 miles I have had a lot of bad luck and been stuck in a lot of slow traffic. I'd say there's around 1mm of friction material before the rivets but i remember from my minimoto days that ceramic clutches...
Hi all, I've got the clio in bits at the mo and have noticed the paddle clutch doesn't seem to have a lot of meat on the plates. I'm not sure however if it needs replacing or not because I'm not sure these friction materials wear in the same way as a STD clutch. If any of you know the thickness...
Wow cheers for digging my thread up guy's I've not updated this in ages and I feel like I should soon. The car still exists and is still in one peice however it is SORN'ed at the moment as the weather hates the Clio and the Clio hates the weather lol. I'm going to get a few bits done to tidy up...
Yeah I have to say it was a bit of a hiccup. I don't think the problem was with with the filter it's self I just don't think it was strong enough to put up with the engines gulping air demands and was getting pulled into the trumpets badly. At the mo I don't have a filter solution and have been...
Just realised I never mentioned this, its a little embarressing/annoying but,
Found out recently at a rolling road day that with the air filter we were advised to fit to keep the engine quiet and safe on track was actually massively strangling it, meaning that when it was on track we were...
Re: Project 172 Trophy Red Megane 225 Powered Heavy Track Car
