saying that the last clutch i built fopr the clio had a volvo turbo coverplate, volvo release bearing and a helix volvo 6 puck in, couldnt get it to slip with itbs on, and i did try, full throttle lauches ftw
hmmm, does anyone sell a single flywheel setup for it, gsf or? if they switch it back to a 215mm clutch one thats good for the meggy would be an uprated one for the clio, same as the old volvo "uprated" r5 gtt clutch's that are sold by tuners
bhp counts for next to nothing when specing a clutch, yes get atleast an uprated one, maybe a 6 puck ceremetalic with a sprung center if you want to put something in that will take a little more abuse if you want more power a little later on
bumping this thread a little, have any of the sc turbo guys ran at pod? what were they getting? intrested more in terminal speed. also ,y clio ran 14.4 at 95 stock bar back seats out
so do you know if it used to behave like it? go to a local old school garage if you have any near you, they should have the kit to check its all ballanced up. would be my first port of call, then if its still shocking id check things like spark plugs and leads, then if its still w**k off to rs...
stock for stock probably very sim, the the gtt lump can be pushed with a carb rejet and turbo change. 180bhp with 180lbft of torque will be easy to do with the right components
a c1j out of a renault 5 gtt is easy, next to no electronics to sort, ive done 2 into mk1 clios engine in out and running in a day, the engine from a 5 turbo engine would be alot harder considering it lives in the rear of a 5 turbo, 172 should be quite straight forward tho the ecu needs unlocking
ah yeah man car looks so sweet, i love what uve done with it, can really see what its like from your picture ;-p so how long till i can come see it and we can go get pulled again
oooo an rs2 engined car local, will have to sort a meet and see how it goes, or bring it too a local track or drag and see how she holds up. glad your ditching the old wheels, saw it in the multistory a few months back now, made me cry a little
