Not again, this always pops up.
Again, the mk1 VTR vs 1.4RT is very very close up to 60, after that the VTR will pull away.
MK2 VTR more powerful is faster to 60 and overall.
It wouldnt take much modding to get a 1.4RT to be able to pull away from a mk1 VTR, scribbler (Clio14) had his...
Well raising the limiter would help 0-60 sprints on summit like the willy would it not? Seen as the willy needs to change to 3rd to get to 60. Might also help the 1.4RT owners as I know my limiter cuts in about 50-55mph I think in 2nd.
New Evo mag (June one) came yesterday. Got a decent article on the new Clio v6 and puts the Clio Cup against the Pug 206 GTi 180. Also has the new Enzo!!
Yes it does have a bigger buldge and that is it, but the phase 3 Clios had the round headlights which means the bonnet not fit on a mk1 phase 3 without mods, but it will fit on a mk1 and mk2, Ive got it on my mk1 phase 2 RT, see here ->...
Carbed ones are very rare but they all have the big air filter kinda like a carb! But yes DTWD, air is sucked directly out the engine bay, cold air is drawn in through the pipes coming from the front, one from the engine as well that why fitting K&N etc dont do owt! Hot air rises which is were...
Engine bay is a good place to start!!! lol, that big round thing sitting near the top of the engine closest to the window, unscrew the bolts holding it in and itll come off completly, therell be pipe attached to it which you might need to remove. G
Get a mate to sit in the car and rev it...
Yeh I used the 10k boost stuff and a lot of sh*t came out the exhaust which smelt terriable but did run smoother, wouldnt say it made it faster though, just smoother idling really.
Lockwood sell most of the white dial kits and a lot of garages will fit em, Halfords will if you speak nicely to one of the mechanics and slip him a few bob.
BUT BE WARNED!!! If there not fitted properly, the dials could get stuck or be inaccurate and they might not light up as good or the...
Does every single car have a limiter? I know my 1.4RT does cos its bounced off it a few times at like 6500-6750 but driving my g/f 1.1 Fezzy, it either doesnt have a limiter or Im just to scared to get it to the limiter for fear of it blowing up
Alex is yours a mk1 RT or one of the bug eyed ones?
On the straight I can hit 100mph with 15s but it starts to struggle then, 0-60 in 10 seconds can be hit quite easily, guy on RSC with a hillpowered 1.4RT lump which has around 130bhp I think but this has had extensive work, gas flowed...
The one with 75bhp probably has more torque and easier revving engine or summit, figures are both very generous though, Ive had my 95 Clio timed at 10 seconds flat uphill by digi camera, not 100% accuarate but gives a rough guide. A lot of other owners get around 10 seconds, some on 9.
Just cos its "only" a 1.6 doesnt mean it cant whip summit with a bigger engine! If that was true, your 1.8 16v wouldnt be able to whip the pants off a 3 litre Vitara.
I think every mk1 Clio came with Bendix or some other type, the only way to tell the difference is to whip your wheels off and have a look at the pads!
