I really do like the EP3. Better interior, better seating position and the engine is pretty fun. I also thought the EP3 had more to give after xxxmph.
If I was using either car everyday I would more than likely go towards an EP3. However I don't and the car is only used as a quick 40 minutes...
RS Tuner and 'matched' inlets would be the better route.
Again, only expect minimal gains though. Problem with N/A tuning is from the factory modern cars usually have an O.K air/induction set up.
The honda S2000 is a prime example of this...
In 'theory' a larger throttlebodie will help aid more air.
However an argument against that 'theory' is surely the engine can only use as much as physically possible so having a larger throttle body may not help.
OP: If you have £150 burning a hole in the pocket and it must be spent on the...
I swapped from the Ph2 airbox to the Ph1 version.
For the sake of £50 I thought it's a nice little upgrade. Doubt there is much if any performance gains but like I say for £50 it sounds a little better and dare I say I think the tube box design looks better than the square type design.
If it is actual bodies you have I was under the impression the larger the better for torque.
If it's a 'throttle bodie' i.e OEM they don't need upgrading as they are not the restriction.
Slightly odd and I know not 100% ideal.
However can you fit a tyre like the Toyo R888 at the front and a tyre like a Federal RSR / Nankang NS2-R on the rear?
Reason why I asked is I know the sidewall of the R888 is pretty high compared to a 'normal' tyre although both would be a 195-50-15...
When going to these lengths, do people put them on the OEM doors or for another £400 go the entire weight saving and go FRP doors like CMComposites sell? (circ £400). So around £1000 in total but surely around 20kg weight saving?!?!
Was looking into this a fair few months ago.
Obviously a little cooler with the window sliders however a few suggested that with the sliders there isn't much weigh saving...
I'm not a huge fan of the roof scoop I know they are practical though!
I've had many vehicles and price per fun you cant really beat the Clio.
I'd hate to drive it everyday however it indeed makes me smile everytime I do get to drive it.
Fantastic value for money and dare I say one of the best sub 200bhp cars there is.
Totally different kettle of fish to the...
So roughly £90+Vat?
How much is a new unit on its own? I am extremely interested in the GAZ units just trying to pursued myself over the likes of BC / AP.
Are they similar to tein in terms of rebuild.
Tein: More or less sell that as a sales pitch as when you come to rebuild/service them it costs twice as much as buying a new unit.
Have been looking into the GAZ units in detail. Just so much conflicting reviews regarding them.
Well, not much has happened as of late.
Had this arrive yesterday:
So today I took it to TCR to have it fitted:
Only drove it back from TCR so not had chance to really see if it's made any improvement however hopefully i'll get half hour the weekend to have a little drive out.
I think some black kidney grilles would look nice on the front and also ties everything together I.e black insert on rear bumper. These also sound nice under 4000rpm.
lovely car you have there!
Fred really needs to get that front bumper sorted. Certainly looks like it's been used as the V6 was designed to.
Joking aside, pictures look good and I'm sure you can't wait to get the trophey on the road.
Its not really chasing figures. These cars are not getting any younger so it's just trying to maximise the OEM power really. Older/worn engines tend to use more oil and this oil goes back into the inlet in turn decreasing the fuel RON in turn loosing FREE power...
Dan, are the gains worth removing the belt etc or is it something which is only worth doing on a belt change? For general public not a self mechanic/specialist i.e labour costs etc.
