THe preffered and harder way of doing it requires you to remove the acousting valve etc, and put the feed by the passengers side low grill. This invloves taking off the bumbper which isnt hard, but a right pain. If you get a 75mm diameter feed, it will fit under the injector unit (or over and...
took mine off, apperntly taking it off increases noise, and stops the cover acting as a heat insulator, ergo keeping the engine cool. You can then sell it on ebay for £30 :D
I bought an open air induction filter, and fitted a heat shield. I then fitted a cold air feed to the bottom grille. Makes a nice noise, but cant say theres really much difference in performance, maybe a little smother in acceleration, and it also reduced my fuel econemy
I just paid 350 for the timing belt, during which they found the auxillary belt tensioner was splitting so they had to replace that. Glad to say the tensioner was covered by a warrantee, otherwise it would have cost 130, because its a renault part that comes as part of a kit
Took it today, they couldnt see anything obvious, so they said just keep an eye on it for now. Its covered by warranty so it can be easilly done. Cheers :D
For the 1st time I filled my 172 up (02 plate) today, I filled it as much as I could, only to find fuel leaking out from below, it stopped after a minute and hasnt come back, does the tank have an overflow/brether system that would do this, or is there a problem????
Im looking for a service manual for my 02 plate 172. Any suggestions? Ive seen a haynes that covers petrol clios from 01 to 04 but on the back says it does not cover the 172, theres also a haynes max power manual?? any ideas :)
I have one on my 172 now, and yes the sound is great, im just unsure as to whether I should get some induction hosing to lead to it, or after what ive read here, refit the original box :S confused...you will be lol, btw I just converted from a golf gti to my 172, and I love it!
Cheers, sounds good, so whats all the hullabaloo about inductors? do they improve performance and econemy, or is it just marketing at play?...or is it just the noise people like?
No doubt you've heard this before but I as wondering..... I have a universal induction kit that I took of my old golf GTI and now have on my 172, its sat there in the engine compartment quite happy. Is it really worth getting all the induction piping to feed cold air directly into it? does it...
Hi I just thought I'd be polite and introduce myself as i'm new here, Ive just bought an 02 plate 172, after converting from a mk4 Golf GTI. I must say, Ive not stopped smilling ever since I had it, and even got all boy race and put an inductor on it :D If there's any hints or tips you can...
