From what I can understand of all this I think it's alot more complicated than just “more torque is better".. It's pretty well known that in racing the more power you have the better as this provides more acceleration and top speed.. And as you're trying to compare two engines with the same...
Had headgasket failure on my old ph1 1.. Coolant kept dropping without a sign off leaks, car ran fine.. when the oil was drained from the engine when the car was broken for parts it had alot of water in it.. On my ph1 now I renewed the coolant in the system and it didn't settle until the bleed...
Having had a look at the dta s series manual it looks like you'd be best using a bosch 0280 140 512 idle valve as they quote this type in the manual but others will most likely work. The clio one may work with the ecu but as its a 4-wire stepper motor type so I would personally go for the bosch...
I've just brought a clio with an epas conversion using a dci rack.
I don't know if it's because I've never driven a clio with epas but it just doesn't seem right.
Its much easier to turn right than left (feels like more assistance when turning left) on the higher settings and only really...
Yeah B18c4 so lower compression than the itr engines which makes it ideal for boost.. Very easy cars to boost also, can be done for much less than a boosted clio and run 300bhp very comfortably.
Thank you! surprised many cars/passengers since owning it haha. Yeah long term will be to get put a...
Thank you! After only owning clios for the last 5 years it is nice to have something different.
Yeah the old wheels did look great, was more stanced with them being really wide and sticking out so much, but totally ruined how the car drove which isn't worth the looks imo.. Yeah you just don't...
Yeah defiantly needs sorting.. No idea, just a socketed P28 ecu from what I was told by the prev owner.. I'm tempted to get a honda data S300 ecu before taking it to get mapped as id want one in the long run anyway and saves mapping it twice then.. Yeah just an ebay gt30, still going well after...
Got the car dynoed, running 346 bhp on high boost so happy with that! Has a rich point on the map as it comes on boost so defiantly does need the map tweeking.
Also starting the audio upgrade for it, got some focal 3 way speakers so mounting the mid bass in the front of the door card and...
Door clip looks similar to this? Used one for my civic when I snapped one
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/222361640853
If so Ive got 99 of them lol
Yeah Its a socketed P28 as far as I know, with an apexi boost controller , wasn't expecting fuel consumption to be great but without an oxygen sensor I'm guessing it's on a set map all the time and not making any adjustments when on part throttle or cruise, might gain me a few mpg getting it...
Spent the afternoon tidying up the interior, brought loads of bits from autofinesse on their black Friday deal so going to give the car a proper detail soon but the interior is looking and feeling much better now!
Cars much lower of the coilovers now, its very dirty atm but got a picture...
They're still on the car atm until the tyres are used then I'll be selling them
Yeah it's surprisingly quick, hit 5k and it just takes off..verging on scary at times lol.. will defiantly get some videos soon!
Update!
Got the miesterR coilovers fitted, car now actually handles reasonably well, no Clio but then it is an estate car
Can't believe how comfy they are for coilovers, got them maxed out on the damping and the ride is still lovely.
Also tried some Clio wheels which I'm going to do once the...
Cheers!
They come with an lsd as standard and as long as you sort of ease into the boost it doesn't spin up that badly tbh , with the ad08 tyres in the dry the grip is very surprising.. torque steer is the main issue but I think the suspension being so boncey is making it much worse so...
Yeah will be a quick learning curve if anything goes wrong lol, the mate I brought it off is very into his hondas too so should be fine. It's plenty quick enough low boost, feels about as quick as my old Clio turbo which was 280bhp
Haha cheers mate! Seen your thread, car looks awesome too...
Mapped by racetech on socketed p28ecu with low boost and high boost settings, not really clued up on Hondas so not too sure if that's a good or bad thing, runs a bar of boost on high boost
Mate was selling this for a good price and I was getting bored of the 172 so decided to take the plunge and go for it.
Quick spec from the sale ad;
For sale is my Honda Civic aerodeck mc2 vti turbo. Has factory fitted lip kit direct from honda and is a really good clean shell with lots to...
I'd agree with the bilsteins being harsh compared to a standard setup, I went to them from Eibach Pro line springs and although the handling was definitely improved, the car did struggle down bumpy roads.. I've got bc's now and on the softer settings they're are perfect for the road!
