Things are starting to come together with this car so should really start a project thread for it..
Car as is stands is a racing blue ph1 172 with the following spec;
Engine/gearbox
182 engine
Cup gearbox
Cup alternator set-up
EFI remap
Suspention
BC racing coilovers with top mounts
Powerflex...
Wow can't belive we've had this over a year! Not a great deal has happened unfortunately! just haven't had the time but we've stripped all the underseal from the underneath and there are a few little patches to sort out but nothing major!
Got a 172 engine in and bolted up, couldn't get the...

I fitted one of these, just need some decent clamps so no welding required, just cut a section out of your centre section the same size as the silencer and they're very good quality too!
Been running my northloop ones for around 6 months daily and been fine. Bearings only cost aorund £35 a time so will probably replace once a year as I only do around 8-10k miles
The pole positions are a wide seat so two of the holes needed elongating. I'd recommend getting the runners as close as possible to the exhaust tunnel side (mine were near enough touching) of the mount or youll be quite a way off the centre of the steering wheel
Around 20kg of silent coat sound deadening.. I then put a full coverage of closed cell foam over before putting the interior back in as the closed cell doesn't really weigh anything.
Didn't make as much difference as I'd hoped but still an improvement, wouldn't say it was worth the effort...
I've used the buckles from the rear seats.. They come apart and give you a nice bracket with buckle attached to it which I've sat on top of the Jon foz subframe and then bolted through both with a spreader plate underneath.
May look into a way of mounting the original buckles with the...
Mine had a recaro fitting kit which the side mounts then bolted to, I got rid of them though as they were way to high for me and the driving position ended up being worse than standard seats..
The seatbelts weren't threaded though in the picture due to just being a test fit.
Most comfortable bucket seat I've ever sat inand cater for all sizes very well so a good all round seat.. I ran with harnesses for while but have also used them with a 3 point belt, the buckle can be a little awkward but wasn't too bad tbh
Got to be the best looking bucket seat for a road car...
Decided to swap out the skoda splitter for a cupra R one and think it really suits a ph1.
After briefly having a gripper diff in the car ( now going into the Mk1 in the back ground) it transforms the car so much that I really want a diff for it , so man maths has kicked in and I'm meg swapping...
No worries! yep slide forward and back..
All the way back (seat hits the rear bench and you'd have to have legs like a basket ball player to need them this far back)
All the way forward
And tilted for rear seat access
They look really well fitted! And yeah they hold you in so much better too, I'm paranoid about getting in and out of atm as the bolsters have no wear on them but I can see how easy it is to wear them as they are very high!
No difference in rear leg room really, just need to slide the seat...
Cheers! Not sure on having too much racing blue in the interior, already painted the door pulls black as the blue was abit much ?
Haha just about.. I'm over 6 foot but any shorter and they'd need raising up a little for sure
Took alot of messing about but finally got my 197 seats fitted how I want them.
I wanted a lower seating position than standard so they needed alot of adapting to get them low enough.
Ended up chopping up the 197 recaro frames and welding them onto universal seat rails which then bolt onto...
Yeah it's a perfect start.. Needs fully going over as it's not done much in about 10 years and the underside needs undersealing but it's a very solid shell!
Yes we brought the car with everything except the seats.. If you want the sadev gear display PM me as we obviously won't be needing that...
I'm sure many will recognise this car (Chris from beaniesports old car) , it came up for sale very local and me and my mate have always wanted a Mk1 so decided to go halves on the project.
Brought as a shell without an engine, fuel tank or seats and going to put all the spare parts we have...
Found this channel on YouTube and it's bloody brilliant.. Two cheap hot hatches getting driven to the absolute limit and the guys driving are having a right laugh in the process!
Makes me really want a 306gti now!
Ideally the crash bar needs trimming to get it to sit a touch higher as the bumper covers the bottom doesn't require anything too drastic.. And yeah I would 100% get the black one as the silver paint is a bit naff
Only had mounting points on one side unfortunately hense why its mounted upside...
Yep..

Much better than the cheap ebay ones.. My brothers megane engined made more power with less boost after swapping to this intercooler as it was so much more efficient and cooled the charge air well.. The gt2560r turbo...
I've got focal AS 5" components front and back in my car which I'm very impressed by for the price. I'd highly recommend sound deadening the doors and rear quarter panel if you want to get the most out of them though...
Brothers ph1 with a megane 225 engine and gearbox swap, running 294bhp
And my blue ph1 which has just had a full 182 interior swap and will soon have 197 recaro's fitted too
